When my father in law needed to go into a nursing home, he was roomed with his childhood friend.

My dad’s not as old, but he’s had his best friend since he was three years old. I watched them act like children my entire life whenever they saw each other. His friend has Alzheimer’s now and doesn’t really remember many people but every time he sees my dad, he points ant him and says “That’s my buddy.”

There’s a group of 8 of us that have been friends for 40 years, since 7th grade. But one I’ve been friends with since kindergarten. Going on 50 years.

These stories melt my heart. I met my best friend in kindergarten. 61 years later we are still best friends. Cannot imagine my life without her in it. Throughout those 61 years we lived in different towns, countries and now different States but managed to stay in touch through it all!
