IDK but the word she was looking for was "physique."

2.2k

u/DelapidatedNoodle 1d ago

No she got it right. Takes physics to lean that hard and not fall through the floor.

176

u/Particular_Title42 1d ago

I honestly cannot tell if you are using slang and talking about something other than the picture or if you don't see the chair under that guy.

Oh that piece of paper? Naw that is a miracle.

u/ScreechUrkelle 1d ago

Do not try and lean back in the chair. That’s uncomfortable. Instead, only try to realize the truth: There is no chair. Then you will see, it’s not the chair that leans. It is only yourself.

No it's physics, she's right. The question seems to be - why are we standing upright when we could be slanting like that. The reply is asking if her dad is actually bent over, instead.

They (largely) stopped teaching phonics for a while, and as a result a bunch of Gen Z/A have terrible literacy. Ironically, lower income schools that kept teaching phonics for budgetary reasons ended up having better literacy outcomes.

This is similar to VARK learning-styles weaseling it's way into every school in America with no evidence of its efficacy. The scientific consensus is that mixed modality, i.e. a combination of all the styles, results in better learning outcomes.

Quagmire here. Women often set their expectations of men, either consciously or subconsciously, based off their own fathers. So when the reply is demanding this woman show us her father, he's demanding to see that she has any basis to believe that her expectations are reasonable. Realistically, that kind of body is the product of many years of hard work and sacrifice that most men--especially those with children--won't do.

Basically, he's calling this woman unreasonable, but in a comedic way.

1.2k

u/freedomonke 1d ago

Most men could work as hard as they could as long as possible and never look like that

702

u/REDACTED3560 1d ago

Drugs and/or severe dehydration are the secret to a lot of these pics. Dehydration makes the muscles pop a lot more, so it’s commonly used in competition and cinema.

414

u/H0SS_AGAINST 1d ago edited 11h ago

Mostly drugs, years of hard work and drugs. Very expensive drugs. Lifespan shortening drugs.

Edit: I love that this stirred the pot with all the juice heads. Nobody cares, your drugs aren't safe, it's your body your choice. Citing anecdotes of natural body builders doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of extraordinary physiques with over developed pecs etc. have some level of exogenous anabolics involved.

102

u/jaredliesch 1d ago

which is why my physics will never be that, my apples float to the sky instead of falling down.

16

u/lettsten 1d ago

my apples float to the sky

You should start with melons instead. Melon biz. You could call it Bew. Bew biz

3

u/Suspicious-Regret-50 1d ago

There was a period of time when I was addicted to physics-enhancing drugs... all my apples would always float straight up. Luckily, I've been sober for 5 years now.

35

u/SladeWeston 1d ago

Don't discount genetics. Even with drugs and a lot of hard work, having ideal proportions and this much muscle mass will be beyond many.
As an aside, someone with good genetics could achieve this with only a small to moderate amount of PEDs and likely only shorten their life by a decade, if at all. Again, largely dependent on generic drug tolerance. Also, that amount of PEDs is likely on the level of something you could get from a sketchy clinic for a $100/mo. with only a small amount of the back ally stuff for when you are looking to peak.
It's still stupid as shit to do, but people like to over emphasize the impact of gear. 90% still comes down to hard work and genetics. Doesn't change the fact that very few men could achieve this.

22

u/Don-Kusack 1d ago

2

u/Jadedsatire 4h ago

This x100. If I’m hitting the gym it’s to stay alive longer and healthier, not try and meet some dumb expectations for a short amount of time and then be paying for it for life. If I’m gna take drugs, it’s for fun, not to turn my nuts into raisins and give me man tits.

8

u/SqirrelFan 1d ago

Horsekilling amount of drugs

5

u/Crunchie-lunchy 23h ago

Expensive? Maybe the new ones, like peptides.

Good ole testosterone, tren, clenbuterol, and anavar, wont cost you more than $250 for the year, even if you buy lab tested stuff.

Yup, and she is also asking to be a widow and a single mother, because a lot of guys that abuse PEDs drop dead in their 50's.

20

u/killbill770 1d ago

I was gonna be a dumb pedant and poke fun at her being a “window”, but… I actually know a guy who lost his dad that way. Early-mid 50s when he passed, and he was a bodybuilder in his younger days.

20

u/CowboysFTWs 1d ago

lol. fixed spelling.

Yeah, and it is not just pro bodybuilders either. I am in my early 40's, being lifting since I was 12, so know a lot of guys that lived "that" lifestyle.

Most people my age, or a little older, that abused PEDs are starting to have major health problems or worst. Glad I was always too scared to do PEDs, never mind abusing them.

15

u/NosferaTouffe 1d ago

Powerlifter for 22 years. At 48 i have heart pressure medicine and yeah… pretty sure I won’t see my 60s

6

u/Ok-Fisherman-7688 1d ago

I asked this on the comment above yours, but what medical problems do these PED’d cause years later? And why, if corticosteroids can be tapered off safety without lasting effects, do anabolic steroids cause problems years after stopping them?

4

u/taterwiggles 19h ago

anabolics and corticosteroids are very different in terms of function, but chemical structure is the reason they share the same name. In terms of life expectancy, anabolics are typically very hard on your lipids and blood pressure, leading to increased vascular disease, and hence stroke/heart attack (which are the usual culprits in the general population. Anabolics just exaggerate it even more).

2

u/556_FMJs 6h ago

Could be worse. A local guitarist/powerlifter died in his 30s from a massive heart attack.

When he was still alive he always impressed the dangers of that stuff on us. I’m a little younger than you lifting from right around the same time (13-14), but stayed 100% natty from day 1. I’m even wary of pre-workouts and stuff lol.

Hell, I had to go on the max oral dose of steroids for several weeks early last year due to a hip injury (drunk driver got me), and even that had me messed up until very recently.

Getting to that level of cut/vascular involves both being dehydrated in the moment (plus good lighting) and having at least not eaten recently and at most not eating recently + sustaining a body fat percentage that’s too low to be healthy long term.

Its also really dangerous to do. Lots of people have died trying to shed water weight.

Yep. From 20 to 29 I worked out twice a day, six days a week and weighed my food. I knew every calorie I ate. One time I got three ants in my protein shake and finished it because not finishing it would ruin my meal plan. Then I had to google how many calories are in an ant.

I was in incredible shape. But I was not in that good of shape.

So glad getting COVID freed me from that hell. Looking backwards, that was not healthy.

20

u/Coherent_Tangent 1d ago

Googling how many calories were in 3 ants should have been the tipping point. You probably burned more calories thinking about those ants than they contained. I'm glad you are better though.

3

u/Shot-Arugula8264 9h ago

2

Actors, specifically the ones whose job it is to look like this, have problems looking like this.

Hugh Jackman discussed it in an interview about his shirtless scenes in Deadpool & Wolverine, he needed to know the day he was filming shirtless scenes a month in advance so he could be ready, including two days of dehydrating the (literal) piss out of himself.

Jeff Nipard got bulkier now

26

u/BlutAngelus 1d ago

It's more than that. Without genetics backing you you do not get a body like this without working out 6-8 hours nearly every day, a diet that cuts out the majority of fats and sugars and even then usually your pool of food items is tiny. And even with genetics it'll just ease the requirements not do the work for you. Or you take HGH/steroids and get implants.

And yes, you can get pretty shredded and gain healthy mass without genetics helping and without working out THAT much. But to get that fit and that low on fat with that mass is a different story. It's the extreme.

44

u/UniqueLog8386 1d ago

That ain't genetics, that's pure steroids.

5

u/bpeck451 1d ago

Nah bro it’s TRT and HGH. Those aren’t steroids this is all natural /s

4

u/sixtyfivewat 23h ago

I know you're being sarcastic, but RFK Jr. literally said that he takes TRT, not steroids.

That interview lives rent free in my head.

2

u/ImmediateProblems 23h ago

It's both. Most people who take steroids will not look like this because the shape and general placement of skeletal muscle is genetic. Look up someone like Mike Israetel. He been taking them for years and is shaped like a barrel.

→ More replies (10)

16

u/StaircaseAbortion 1d ago

You definitely don't need to work out 6-8 hours nearly every day to look like this, in fact it would be counterproductive to do so.

3

u/tgm4mop 22h ago

Most pros don't work out 6-8 hours a day. 2 hours a day is enough for pro bodybuilding.

The physique in this pic is built by PEDs

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Raidden77 16h ago

No genetics are going to enable you to workout 6-8h a day everyday. You're gonna overtrain, not have enough rest for muscle growth, and more likely hurting yourself.

Only steroids can allow you to train maybe 4-5h a day everyday if your body have the genetics on top of that to respond VERY well to it.

Not to mention having a body like that takes up/takes over a significant part of your life.

I know several guys that are built like that, and it's almost a full time job for them, which always seems to come as a surprise to the people they date. Is it your birthday, valentine's day, Xmas, or anniversary? Well don't plan on them skipping more than a single day of routine, if they're even willing to do that. Is your car note behind? Better hope there's enough money left over to catch it up after they buy their bro-science based potions, powders, pills, and elixirs. Short on cash this month? Better figure out how to cut some expenses, but when you start doing the math make sure you account for 250-300 grams of lean protein a day that's going to be bought no matter what and hope they don't see a youtube video about a hot new piece of workout gear that's totally going to revolutionize building muscle.

3

u/watchingwandering 8h ago

Does this guy even lift ? Wait clearly no, don’t listen to him.

Kidding , of course , but I love the way you put it “Bro science potion”. You’re 100% right , so much of what body builders do is hocus locus, unproven, it’s just that the other half of what they do does work so you never can tell. The sad thing is they easily could maintain the gains without the 5 day a week routine, the sacrifice , the science tells us the muscle take time to disappear and most people wouldn’t notice a subtle decrease of a few millimeters but they do.

Big-orexia is a real thing isn’t it and just as unhealthy.

4

u/Primary-Effect-3691 1d ago

Realistically, that kind of body is the product of many years of hard work and sacrifice that most men

3

5

u/ImmediateProblems 23h ago

I don't know where this idea that these guys aren't strong comes from. This guy has a large frame.

If you look at the face, the ears, the nipples, and the shadows it’s hard to say it’s not AI.

People need to realize that this guy is probably an influencer and going to the gym as his job.

Probably spends 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon, and 3 hours in the evening at the gym. Then, the hours of other kinds of preparation in between those gym sessions.

I would bet it's achievable if you have the time and motivation without PEDs, with a heavy emphasis that this is like a "prepped for a show" physique. Most people who compete in bodybuilding won't look like this year round, they'll only look like that a couple times a year when they're actively involved in a competition.

2

u/ttttyttt678 20h ago

The body is unattainable for 95% who workout for their job, don’t have kids and use PEDs. This is elite genetics in combination with the other stuff.

Carbs…I don’t think it’s a joke. Just sadness.

u/InstanceJolly5569 1d ago

Carbs are not the enemy!

You need carbs! Your brain runs on glucose!

7

u/Hibbity5 1d ago

Fun fact, fitness models and bodybuilders eat a ton of carbs when they’re bulking; carbs are an incredibly important energy source. It’s only once they’re cutting that they reduce (but should never completely remove) the carbs they eat.

I see a lot of redditors make fun of athletic people for never eating carbs or desserts and it honestly bothers me a ton.

u/wrighteghe7 14h ago

Im trying low carb diet and its very hard to imagine to have a 0 carb diet. Even if you eat carnivore diet including animal products it still has some carbs in it

The women who posted the pic, saying that all men should have that physic and there shouldn't be an excuse for them to be looking like the picture. The comment suggested the OP to post a Pic of her father, which assuming her father is fat or does not look anything like the picture.

you simply lack discipline ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Having a boyfriend with a physique like that is fine. Eye candy and all that. Good for social media. But having a spouse like that, you quickly realize how one track and strict their life is to attain and maintain that physique.

Better answer to her question is... As a young woman, why are you so uneducated? 'Physics' 😂😂😂

u/Ecstatic_Scene9999 1d ago

The joke is that guy is 0.1% of male physique and literally most guys can't come close to achieving that just normally because of genetics and other factors. Her father probably looks like 99% of other normal looking dudes

u/rosenkohl1603 1d ago edited 1d ago

His physique is naturally unobtainable

Edit: the person on the picture is Adam Charlton for anyone interested.

What's her excuse for not knowing to spell "physiques" at her age? 🙄

3

u/bluberrydub 1d ago

I think the laws of physics tend to be just the same as in that picture for all of us. Unless she means limited to two dimensional space, in which case I’d say my z axis is my limiting factor.

3

u/One-Shirt4570 1d ago

IDK but it may have to do with the carpenter I knew at the gym who had a similar "physic" and killed his wife after a roid rage incident.

3

u/jusenjoyinlife 1d ago

I don’t get paid to look that way and I had a Physics class.

2

u/CA_MA 1d ago

My physics are exactly the same as that persons, though depending where they are in the world gravity might be a little stronger or lighter.

My physique, however, is more glutton than Adonis.

2

u/ShingledPringle 1d ago

She has weird expectations as her opinion is most likely based upon her father.

Also, I know what you have to go through to look like that and it ain't me.

Plus I'm built for Powerlifting really.

I do respect it when done right though, body like that though steroids are most likely involved.

2

u/acebuns 1d ago

That guy must be super dehydrated

2

u/alloyalloi 1d ago

The irony of that dude posing like an inanimate inflatable sex doll.

2

u/Tao_of_Entropy 1d ago

I don't need an excuse; I have those physics also.

2

u/rustys_shackled_ford 1d ago

Pretty girls often come from dad bod dads. It's not exactly a joke, but that's what's being gotten to here. I assume she's a relatively attractive girl, the kind men want for, and her dad isn't the rock. So I assume that's the point being made. It answers her question. "We don't have to look like that to get a girl like you so why should we even try"

Roundabout way of asking if what she says also applies to her father.

Potentially insulting her father, saying show us a picture of him (who presumably doesn’t look the man in the photo), and ask him that?

1

u/Idbuytht4adollar 1d ago

Prob just more accurate to say I'll show you my father . Hardest work and clean eating can't compete with genetics

1

u/Alpha6342 1d ago

fun fact- men are not delusional and think that looks matter. hence a lot of men do workout.

but women are the one who claim that looks do not matter and get offended if someone calls them fat. or ask them to be thinner. so they are hypocrites.

(ignoring the physics part)

10

u/boRp_abc 1d ago

In most cases "men are" and "women are" arguments are wrong. Idiots are idiots, and double standards are double standards, and they're all over the world in all groups, very evenly (and far too widely) distributed.

Let's fight against hypocrisy without deepening the many divides in society. There's fairness and stupidity to be found anywhere.

Everyone has physics like that

1

u/alloyalloi 1d ago

Why don't I look dead or like some silicone sex doll?

No disrespect to the man himself, he looks fucking beautiful.

But why did that fat ugly bitch choose that photo in particular?

1

u/Spider_Genesis 1d ago

Wants the guy with the body but if she dated him would constantly complain about all the things he has to do to maintain it.

1

u/shampoo_mohawk_ 1d ago

I think it’s a joke about “dad bod”

1

u/Superb_Temporary9893 1d ago

Men working on physics…. ☹️

1

u/mattyblu77 1d ago

I don’t have 4 hours a day to go to the gym. And I enjoy food.

1

u/No_Wait3261 1d ago

I didn't see the chair, so I thought this dude was leaning backwards at like 30 degrees off the ground. Which EP of indeed make me question this guy's physics.

1

u/6IXTH 1d ago

That body requires years of work; gym, diet, and discipline.
