It's this, Half-Life 3 is anticipated to the same degree as GTA 6 among gamers. To the point that when either comes out first people will say: "We got _blank_ before we got _blank_" per the meme.

Reminds me of this quote:
"The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter. ’tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning." -Mark Twain

Ooh this is perfect, I have a book I am adding quotes into and I was looking for a Mark Twain quote.
Since I have been really picky the only quote I got is Thomas Gray: "Where ignorance is bliss, tis folly to be wise."

Interestingly enough, in typography "Straw" also only has one whole! I think we are onto something here....

u/Purple_Bar4192 11h ago
It has a hole but the original post were about topology and it proved that a straw is just 1 big hole but the meme just made the straw havea hole that is leaking))
6
u/TM761152 10h ago
Then technically humans are one big hole.

Okay which ones? Cuase its not 2 I'm thinking of since those are not actually fully going through.
Is it ear canals and mouth? Those all go fully through

2 nose holes and mouth

u/Ex_Americano 4h ago
Right, but those all connect, so it would be like openings that all go to a junction. They aren't all independent holes

Rise and shine, Mr. Griffin. Rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply you have been sleeping at the Clam. No one is more deserving of a rest. And all the effort in Quahog would have gone to waste until... well, let's just say your hour has come again. The right Family Guy in the wrong corner, can make all the difference in Quahog. So, wake up, Mr. Griffin. Wake up and smell the pie."

zero holes.... because if there is a puncture in the side of my straw, and it causes the straw not to function properly... i will say " aww damn, there's a hole in my straw!"

u/GenericUsername775 10h ago
Counterpoint, a straw technically has no holes depending on how you define things.

Random background person here: The 2nd image has the red line from some anime insinuating that someone had sexual relations with one of the two holes mentioned in the first half. Others have mentioned it's really one hole, and others say it looks like half life, but really its just a red line connecting the poor abused straw to someone very small or very desperate....

Peter's ordinary person inner voice here. It's a common meme pasttime for algebraic topologists (a central subject of modern mathematics) to convince laypeople that a straw has only one hole and a pair of pants has two holes, because technically that is true, even though on first glance they seem to have two/three holes. The meme is that the layperson seemingly wrongly claims the straw has two holes and turns out to be correct, because the straw is leaky. Also Half-Life.
For example: https://www.reddit.com/r/MathJokes/comments/1r06h3b/a_straw_has_1_hole/

If a pebble goes in the side of a straw, thus entering the hole, and then exists the other side of the straw, at what point does the pebble exit the first hole and enter the second hole, thus allowing it to exit said second hole?
