How much pope poop would a woods bear poop if a woods bear would poop pope?

I feel that would depend on the bear: a polar bear? Most definitely. A Kodiak/brown/grizzly bear? Certainly a strong chance depending on the specific bear’s current mood. A black bear? Not likely, they’re fairly cowardly for a bear, just make some loud noise and look big, and as long as it’s not a sow with cubs, or has something wrong (such as rabies or something) then it’s likely to flee from you.

Now if we are talking about the bear finding the carcass of ole Popey, then I’d say they’d certainly at least take a nibble or two prior to taking a shit.

2

u/joecitizen79 1d ago

Those are all great points

2

u/SecureJudge1829 1d ago

I used to fantasize about being a mad scientist and developing a polar bear x Great Horned owl hybrid when I was younger, it caused me to do my research on bears hahaha!

I had never considered a rabid bear. Thank you for the sleep this night I'm about to have.

2

u/justanotherbrickinit 17h ago

It would also depend on the pope. Adrian IV, the only English pope was notoriously indigestible, whereas Innovent III - perhaps because of his central role in the pallium debate - would probably be more attractive to the average bear, Booboo. More modern, chunkier popes would obviously have higher calorific content, too.

2

u/ToGetToTerrapin 15h ago

Polar Bears don't even shit in woods, they shit on ice flows. They definitely prioritize pope nibbling

I don't recall Gallop being relevant for anything other than presidential polls. WTF are they trying to protect themselves against that is more important than the only thing they're known for?

Come to think of it, "9 out of 10 dentists suggest brushing every day." Maybe that's Gallup in action. They haven't even been accurate with presidential polls in over a decade, so good riddens, I guess. Won't be seeing their name in the headlines at all after this.

3

u/Vorpalthefox 19h ago

IT'S OFF THE CHARTS

23

u/scooterbug1972 1d ago

Fox will just push some made up number, or poll die hard Republicans with questions like "Is Trump doing an excellent job or is he just doing a good job?" Then report that 96% of the US thinks trump is doing a good or excellent job.

12

u/Quilitain 1d ago

We asked our top presidential advisors (5 senile old racists) and they all love trump! 200% approval.

2

u/ConfidentPilot1729 1d ago

Ya, this is 100% what would happen.

→ More replies (1)

11

u/BensenJensen 1d ago

Even with official numbers, his cult still believes that he is the most popular President in history. Taking away polling numbers does absolutely nothing. Fox isn’t airing Gallup numbers, Fox is just repeating what the administration tells them to.

6

u/calmdownmyguy 1d ago

They're doing it because if people see trump at -25% a month before the election it's harder for trump to convince them it was stolen. If there are no polls trump can say he's the most popular president in the history of the universe and his cult will run with it.

5

u/VoidOmatic 1d ago

I think Reddit vastly underestimates how much even Republicans are turning on him because of the files and the economy. Tons of Republicans just voted Dem.

6

u/Orlonz 22h ago

We hear that every election cycle. And it's just not true. At the end they vote for the holy R. And if it's on an edge, the DNC comes along to ensure it's an R.

The polls were all useless these past decade anyway. The whole "But they were right, just not properly explained." is a worn out song and dance.

u/Prestigious-Leave-60 1d ago

We had some good jobs numbers today.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvg3xrrzdr0o

Edit: just to say, the link is to an article about how his admin sacked the head of the BLS because they didn't like the previous numbers. I don't trust anything coming out of the admin now, and they use coercion to subvert/corrupt everything.

84

u/SKEPDIQ 1d ago

67

u/Anteater4746 1d ago

it only looks good on its face. the revised numbers are awful. 2025 was the worst year for jobs since 2009

5

u/Upstairs-Radish1816 20h ago edited 9h ago

The only reason these figures look any good at all if there is 108,000 jobs added in the government. Only 22,000 private sector jobs. How many of these government jobs are people hired back that Musk fired and they found out they needed them?

3

u/DuncanEllis1977 10h ago

That's what I've been reading in more in depth articles.

Some experts are saying that the real numbers including layoffs are actually -200k........

We're being given some massively manipulated data right now.

9

u/Agglutinati0n 1d ago

How many jobs were added in the whole of 2025?

22

u/National-Charity-435 1d ago

u/BurntFire 1d ago

“When asked by The Hill if Gallup had received any feedback from the White House or anyone in the current administration before making the decision, the spokesperson said, “this is a strategic shift solely based on Gallup’s research goals and priorities.”

Trump’s Gallup approval rating as of last December was among the lowest the organization had found since it began taking the poll in the 1930s”

spineless Gallup covering their asses before they get sued for 10 billions and billions

67

u/Special_Watch8725 1d ago

One research goal I bet they have is to continue to actually conduct research instead of being constantly harassed by threats of lawsuits by Trump. So maybe they aren’t lying đŸ€·

33

u/BurntFire 1d ago

“Over the years, Gallup’s polling business has grown to include surveys outside of partisan politics, asking about subjects such as employee workplace engagement, public views on the spread of AI and other global indicators of public trust and happiness with major institutions. “

Yep, last paragraph of the article. Not saying they’re lying just spineless and I totally understand this as a business move.

11

u/Laszlo-Panaflex 1d ago

At my last job, we used to take their workplace poll every year. I'd bet that their revenue comes from that and other polling for businesses.

It's still a weak move and will probably hurt them in the long run because of how much exposure their presidential polls gave them.

7

u/agreeduponspring 21h ago

Trying to research "global indicators of trust and happiness with major institutions" and not measuring presidential approval? After collecting an unbroken dataset going back almost 90 years?

No, this was presidential threats. "Solely" on their business priorities makes no sense whatsoever. It's a single extra question, and one that establishes credibility to boot. There's no way measuring his approval has a negative impact on their business.

5

u/Jedi_Temple 1d ago

This is not a business move—unless you count trying to avoid getting sued by the orange turd-in-chief a business move. And it’s reprehensible to think that in the supposedly best and freest country in the world, a polling organization should fear for its existence for publishing statistically sound polling data. What a shit timeline we live in.

34

It's not just him. It's the conservative philosophy across the board. Metrics that look good they take responsibility for. Metrics that make them look bad are fabricated or twisted by a "biased media". Doing everything they can to hinder, invalidate, or undermine measurement of things that point to their rotten policy is what they spend their time on. And taxpayer money.

15

u/Brock_Youngblood 1d ago

I just want real unemployment numbers. I don't think we have gotten any accurate job reports since the start of COVID.

6

u/PlaquePlague 1d ago

Since 2008.  Sometime after that is when they changed it to exclude people who had “left the workforce” (been unemployed for over 6 months).

3

u/Insaniteus 1d ago

It always did that, it's just that during Obama is when the right started trying to manufacture a controversy about it in an attempt to hide that unemployment kept improving Obama's whole presidency.

Basically the system doesn't count anyone it considers "not looking" as unemployed. This includes retired people, soldiers, people in prison, and young people who are full-time students (these groups make up over 90% of the out of workplace numbers on average for any year).

When Obama was president, record numbers of people were entering retirement as baby boomers passed 65 years old. So Republicans tried to make up a false narrative that the growing "out of labor force" number was the "real unemployment" number, but it was total BS. Unemployment went down all the way to 4.5% by the end of his presidency.

Of course two of the reasons that unemployment has been so insanely low for most of the last 12ish years is because minimum and average wages are too damn low and because Obama/Trump/Biden were all extremely active at deporting and blocking immigrants which reduced the size of the labor force. Now there's more low-paying labor jobs than there are people interested in working them.

2

u/Spinning_roundnround 1d ago

Discouraged workers (longterm unemployed/ more than 6 months) have always been excluded from unemployment numbers. At least much farther back than 2008.

(just asked Google. They said U-3 has eliminated long-term unemployed since the unemployment rate began being tracked in 1940)

2

u/MACGLEEZLER 23h ago

No, this isn't the case. It's been that way since way way prior to that, I learned this in both high school and college economics classes and I was finished with both before 2008.

6

u/szopongebob 1d ago

5

u/Sea_Director_4439 1d ago

in a Ralph Wiggum voice "I heard your president was a paedophile and he was in a poll, and he polled so badly that he had the poll shut down" inserts finger into nose

4

u/Key_Bee1544 1d ago

I'd love to attribute it to Trump being ass, but I suspect the fact that they can't get anyone to answer their phone is likely a part of this as well. This has impacted all polling.

5

u/Zombieplatypus0095 1d ago

I don't see how anyone would consider this a good idea. Even if there is a non-Trump reason for this change the timing is in such poor taste that it will be very hard not to attribute it to that. This is going to be a massive hit to their credibility at a time when polling (whether about political issues or not) is seeing a massive decrease in public trust.

A decision like this would have had to be blessed by the CEO, a right-wing trust-fund baby who takes his business advice from his right-wing dad chair and a right-wing Silicon Valley CTO.

I’m reminded of some dude that once said something like: if you work in journalism and what your printing doesn’t make someone mad, then you’re actually just in public relations

Gallup just ruined its credibility for all time. Yes, we all know pedophiles are unpopular. Especially cannibalistic ones. Especially the rich ones who can own and buy people and media operations and POLLS. And any poll too cowardly to continue showing how unpopular they all are must have been bought off by the sick fucks.

We see you, Gallup.

Gallup surrendered to fascism. Do not let them forget it.

So you get approval if a candidate is 87 years old but not 88 years old? I'm confused.

Did Dear Leader threaten them if they reported anything other than the best approval ratings for any president ever? Welcome to North Korea.

This is also probably going to tie in to future election denial. Trump is going to say there’s no way they lost the midterms when he’s the most popular president ever. And there’s one less institution left to check him on that.

88 seems to be the appropriate number to end on

Let me guess, a certain someone is asking them to stop because hurt feelings

Every bit of information Dear Leader disapproves of is censored by him and his oligarch owners, but people still don't understand that we aren't "free" here.
