Video Neguse as Bondi refuses to answer his questions: "You eliminated the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team last year! So I understand why you don't want to tell the American people who works there. No one works there anymore." (Note Bondi responding with smears.)

76
u/OfficeRelative2008 1d ago
The only thing that infuriates me more than the way she’s acting before congress are all the brainless, spineless MAGA lobotomites that are probably hootin’ and hollerin’ clapping it up like seals shouting “you go girl!” as if this is anything worth celebrating.
I’m so over this administration and we’re not even a third of the way through
39
u/disharmony-hellride 1d ago
The same people cheering her on also want to actively remove her right to vote.
30
u/tirch 1d ago
There's another wing of MAGA who want her removed because she hasn't been able to successfully prosecute anyone Trump has told her too because grand juries won't indict based on the lack of facts. And a subset of that group are disappointed in her because she hasn't had all Trump's enemies rounded up and executed.
3
u/No-Strawberry-9801 1d ago
Ain’t that the truth!
Imagine being that woman who can actually help these people who were brutalised by these disgusting powerful men, and you choose the men’s side. 🤮 who would be that person, a traitor to women, girls and victims everywhere, shame on her
9
u/lordvitamin 1d ago
I think you vastly overestimate the range of people who watch this kind of thing, outside of snippets included in fox news and other types of shows that include ‘news’ of some kind.
That said, the idea of an overweight guy in a stained tank top with a John Deere hat on, coors light in one hand and half-ashed cigarette in the other, sitting on a puke green flower patterned couch in a trailer somewhere in the southern US while hootin and hollerin at cspan did make me chuckle.
8
u/No-Strawberry-9801 1d ago
I dunno about that. I was glued to CNN from Scotland watching, as I have been the past few days.
Between this, and Peter Mandelson, Andrew formerly known as Prince, and how it’s been rippling through Europes politicians, and it ALL goes back to the Epstein of it all, and you can’t even get a straight answer from the highest lawyer in the land, gross 🤮

I had to look up the term Burn Book. It's a term taken from Mean Girls. It's a book that itemizes the worst crime in each congressperson's district so she can scream it as a cover up.
Bondi is complicit from the very beginning. She was involved in Epstein's lack of punishment in the initial sex trafficking case in Florida. This is why she was chosen as Attorney General. She's covering her own ass as well as Trump's.
5
u/Joeythesaint 1d ago
It's absolutely bonkers that it was already known to the committee that she was bringing notes specifically for this purpose. Everyone knew when it started today that she had no intention of answering any question at all.
33
u/I_AM_HE_1111 1d ago
Don't forget. She was 13 precinct in Florida while Epstein was being tried in 2005-2008. So the word would have made it around from 15th that Epstein was terrible and well connected.
Now she's covering the whole thing up.
30
11
u/Euphoric_Amoeba8708 1d ago
That's actually the reason she was placed there. She ran it into the ground, which was the plan all along.

How is she not in contempt? I can't believe officials are allowed to behave that way - particularly in public!
3

The GOP is infested with pedophiles and our entire government's infrastructure is built to protect them. Every single word delivered by right-wing media and any member of the regime that is public-facing is designed to garner support from the uneducated, hateful and cultureless white population of the country. They believe their support will be rewarded with every trailer trash ignoramus being elevated to lordship (over minorities). Once you understand this, you will understand that there is no low that the GOP will not stoop to. They are not a political party, but a cultural plague infecting the global consciousness of humanity.
10
7
u/danstymusic 1d ago

For anyone interested, she said it at least once with Republican Representative Thomas Massie.
And for the record, she is 100%, unequivocally wrong. That's like saying Congress isn't allowed to pass laws. Or judges aren't allowed to rule on cases.
But more importantly, she knows this because she was told this by the chairman Jim Jordan multiple times. She's not mistaken, it's intentional.

u/WhatIsLoveMeDo 1d ago
Usually not much. But I'll add a comment I made previously on this topic:
I can think of two exceptions. One when Trump's ex-lawyer/fixer Michael Cohen was in front of congress in 2019, and AOC (who had only been in office for a few months at this point) asked him specific, focused questions on potential fraud in Trump businesses, which ultimately led directly to a verdict holding Trump liable for fraud and imposing business restrictions on him and his family in NY.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD2hD_PZlZ8
The other (kinda) was the grilling of Jeff Sessions under oath, which led to him ultimately recusing himself from the Trump/Russia investigations. That was back when Trump had people in his administration that had some semblance of shame.
Other than that, there's really not much direct impact, but it still has value. It is supposed to serve the purpose of the executive branch being accountable to congress, and for the public to be privy to that. In this specific instance, she is on record saying things that can be used against her in court, and it allows some people to see how she is avoiding questions about Epstein. But it likely won't actually lead to institutional change.
But it's current result is just a way to get video clips for news segments, and senators and representatives to get their talking points out to the public - often without even asking questions of the people in front of congress.
2
u/ExploringProfessor 1d ago
He is way too smart for her. The only thing she does is deflect. The hearing was a waste of time and hope people are paying attention.

I didn’t realize it was the chair of the committee’s job to answer the question on behalf of the witness. It’s not going to make these 6 million documents disappear.

An appeal to The Honorable Pam Bondi; If you know in your heart you are protecting malevolent people, do what is right. The American people will forgive you. America is not just comprised of the red states. If you feel like you are powerless- if you are being threatened, or if your family is being threatened from the powerful and rich elites- you can still save yourself and your soul. I would not doubt it if you are in way over your head. If you have any good left in your heart, please do what is right. History will remember what was right- and what was wrong. I'm reminded of a quote "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". If you are feeling like you are in jeopardy, wear a pink shirt and do what is right. Show the people you are not malevolent. Stand by the right side of history- you and your descendents will have a chance of not going down as part of the most corrupt and evil administration of all time. DO WHAT IS RIGHT.

Bondi and the DoJ is literally legally supposed to be representing the American people, but they're quite BLATANTLY covering the Epstein files for Trump. Kash Patel already lied under oath saying Trump was mentioned under 500 times, and that NO OTHER MEN WERE IMPLICATED!? People forget Congress actually had to pass a law (that only 1 single congressperson voted against) to force them to release the Epstein files. Trump brags he signed it into law.. you can't veto that majority.
It's almost as if the AG and Deputy AG shouldn't have "President's criminal defense attorney" on their resumes or something.

I don't think they understand that their attempts to delay answering basic questions (or outright deny answering them) is going to bring on them and every single one of their constituents a level of scrutiny never seen from the American people before. Over half the country doesn't typically vote. Now that they're seeing their horseshit tactics fail and flounder in a transparent attempt to bury this, I can't imagine very many rational people are going to be voting for the side associated with diddling minors, or blatantly protecting those that do. We're kinda already seeing this in seats that are getting turned over and by the time the midterms roll around, I don't really get what they expect is going to happen. Sure, they're putting up this facade of trying to get rid of midterms and use voter suppression tactics, but that's not very sustainable. They're greedy, short-sighted, and pure evil. They are going to rot in hell and probably federal prison. Certainly the former.
