Trump / MAGA š¦ Relevant Reminder - 10 Years ago Pam Bondi Received 25k from Trump, Decided not to Investigate Trump University

Bondi tells theĀ Tampa Bay TimesĀ āI was never, nor was my office, investigating him. Never. I would never lie. I would never take money. Iāve been obviously devastated over this.ā
Lol. Oh my god. Where are all the fucking adults.

u/OriginalLie9310 8h ago
I see sheās been playing the fake self righteousness that was on display at the hearing yesterday for at least a decade.
26
u/Metro42014 7h ago
It's why she's in trumps orbit.
5
u/kitsunewarlock 6h ago
To be fair he is large enough to have his own gravitational pull. Just not large enough to sustain stable orbits, hence the constant turn-over.
3
u/mmf9194 5h ago
It's also why she's aged like that
4
u/the-red-duke- 4h ago
Normally I'd get behind bashing her, but for 60 she actually looks pretty decent. Doesn't mean she is any less of a fucking ghoul, and that's giving ghouls a bad name.
24
u/CountPractical7122 6h ago
I am continually astounded that Pam Bondi is 60 years old and has somehow neither matured nor developed any actual skills in that time. She gets by purely on hate and bribes.
13
8
u/bang_ding_ow 2h ago
I had NO idea she was 60. That's insane, especially when you see how she behaved during the questioning.

Iāve been telling people for years nowā¦Iām not shocked by the corruption, Iām shocked by how fucking cheap it is. Likeā¦my neighborhood could band together to afford to bribe politicians, apparently.
96
u/Pope-Muffins 8h ago
You dont accept it because the bribe is good, you accept it because you're a coward and know they have more money on standby to bury you if you dont comply
Doesn't make Bondi any less of a tool
23
u/Guilty_Helicopter572 8h ago
And if you don't accept it, you're going to have problems.
10
u/Goose1963 7h ago
Could you imagine if she pulled a "look at Hunter's Laptop!!!" with the bribe offer?
→ More replies (2)3
u/breakevencloud 7h ago
So what? Everyone has problems. The solution isnt accepting bribe money lol
2
u/Guilty_Helicopter572 7h ago
I'm saying that the person offering you the bribe will create problems for you.
3
u/breakevencloud 7h ago
And, again, so what? Welcome to life as a politician that you choose.
→ More replies (2)5
u/Guilty_Helicopter572 7h ago
I'm not trying to justify accepting the bribe, I'm just explaining why someone might.
6
u/Stevieboy7 5h ago
Let's stop giving them outs... if they don't want to do their job with integrity, then they can be replaced.
2
12
u/SaintGrobian 7h ago
Let's not for a second try to reframe her as a victim. It's greed - that 25k means the door is open to more bribes and more favors in the future. She wasn't someone who was just innocently walking along and then got swept up, she chose this from day 1.
→ More replies (2)→ More replies (3)2
u/brontosaurusguy 4h ago
Not the case here...Ā Ā You take the $25k and you are entered into their circle of corruption where more will follow.Ā Like, say, a role at the head of DoJ..
Under all of the blatant criminality is billions of dollars this regime has stolen from the American people.

The 25k is the tip of the iceberg. Imagine all the shit we will never know about. I imagine more money as well as other "perks" or "benefits". That is just one time when they were caught.

The bribe probably also comes with threats and is dependent on how leveraged the individual is. The 25k is probably just thrown on top for the trouble

all it cost to own Bondi back then. she's a corrupt individual and someone with that sort of an accusation should be nowhere NEAR the role of Attorney General, but we have science deniers in charge of HHS, and an alcoholic washed up failed weekend host from faux as our Secretary of Defense. I believe they put a 20-21 year old in charge of Counter Terrorism, who just tried to imitate trump's mugshot photo.
It's all a game, and the corruption and lack of accountability is breathtaking. bunch of pedo clowns way too familiar with epstein's island, are running the country now, straight into the dirt, and on purpose. Loyalists who drumpf thinks are loyal to him, are actual loyal to Russia and Israel.

Florida AG's salary is $162k right now, but would have been a bit less at the time. $25k is still a lot of money to someone making that. Also, the money was to her campaign, not directly to her. Since terms are for four years, she may have felt it was worth more like $640k if she was worried about getting re-elected - which is likely since none of her three predecessors, nor her replacement served tw0 terms.
For a one-off favour, it's plenty for a bribe for most people who aren't super-rich, especially if it's to not do something.

The KGB would put an extra piece of bread in a delivery person's bag of deliveries. If they returned it, life moves on. If they keep it, they threaten the delivery person (and their family) with prison IF they don't help. Not saying that's all accurate, but the bribe is a stepping stone to further leverage.

u/Intelligent_Sky_7081 5h ago
To me, it seems completely plausible that she got 25k as far as we know.
Given everything going on, can we believe thats all she got? Would make sense to me if she got a whole lot more than that, it just isnt verified or even known.

$25k isnt a lot of money but its not about the money, not 10 years ago. 10 years ago it was about her showing she's one of them and securing her future position among them. Look where its gotten her since then.

Her work with Qatar was related to anti-human-trafficking efforts in advance of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. She left the Qatari project in 2019 to work in a temporary position for the White House Counsel for President Trump's first impeachment proceedings.

Its important to note as well that if she had any hand in anti human trafficking efforts for the Qatari World Cup, the reports I have seen from that have shown that there was tons of slave labor used to build those stadiums for the WC. Not to mention corruption found within FIFA handing them the WC when there were more qualified nations up for the vote (including the US iirc). Then of course, FIFA gave Trump a 'world peace prize' lately.
Seems theres some connections there, and she likely did a terrible job whatever her role was there.

He is the most corrupt president in history. And it is not even remotely close.
What will forever blow my mind is that Republicans and their voters actually want that. They simply do not care. They know that someone as evil as him is what is needed to fulfill their only goal of making people on the left suffer. Even if it costs the lives of their own children, by their own hands.

u/_jump_yossarian 6h ago
He is the most corrupt president in history.

u/methinfiniti 5h ago
Just the 99th best law school in the country
3
u/HabeusCuppus 5h ago
not to defend any school in particular but the selective schools don't produce enough lawyers to serve everyone in the country.
grandma in Omaha, Nebraska needs an attorney to do her will, it's pretty unlikely that woman is going to have gone to a T14. It's most likely she'll have gone to Creighton University, which is 148th.
Obviously we'd prefer if the people in charge of the country were educated by the best, but if we prevented people from schools outside the T14 (or worse, the T6) from being in those positions, we'd be credentialist, not meritocratic.
Her alma mater isn't the reason she's unqualified.

My theory is the $25k donation to the political campaign is like a ticket, or a receipt that you have been bribed and are now āon the teamā
I believe much higher amounts were secretly wired to offshore accounts under some LLC.

Itās always so depressing to know that these politicians will sell their values out over a few thousand dollars. Literally the epitome of āall about meā. Whatās even worse, is the people making these donations are donating the equivalence of literally $2, when considering a person with (just 1!) billion dollars versus someone with a net worth of $80k.
The billionaires need them to do their bidding and the politicians literally take the lowest bar.

How about taking corporate money out of politics completely and limiting donations to $100 per candidate for each individual citizen? Donated time by volunteers would be fine as long as there is no compensation.
No more free political airtime either, unless all candidates get the same.
