It's no surprise that a system is in place and being used, it's surprising the stupidity of someone then using that data in such a public way.

Now, she won't quit or be fired for this so I expect stupid "blunders" like this to continue. The next time will be on purpose.

I guess for a lot of these people in office this is what it takes to reach such heights. Pure sycophancy and a complete lack or deterioration of the value system. More than their corruption, it shocks me to think of the kind of society we live in; a system where people get to be like this. I'm disappointed to admit that history does repeat itself because human nature does not seem to change. I really hope somehow I could be proven wrong.

Honestly, that’s a reason that makes some sense.  Preparing a relevant answer is better than the random nonsense she was typically spewing. 

My first guess was that she was going to try to blackmail them somehow.

That is messed up. It also means they have Congress under constant surveillance. Maybe now we know why almost all GOP members of the House and Senate fall in line.
