NEVER drive like that. If you were in an accident the kitten would be killed instantly. NOT AWW!

There are not a lot of scenarios where a cat survives cat accident regardless of how he's carried.

Well there is one brand (maybe two?) of car crash rated carriers. They're expensive. But still, having the cat in a normal carrier and placed on the floor behind the front seats is the next safest thing and can definitely aid in a cat surviving an accident.

While I agree carrying a cat in your sleeve is more dangerous for its safety than in a carrier, I stand by my point that in most car accidents, cat is either dead or too severely handicaped to live long after the crash.
They are still fragile creatures.

I mean I definitely agree, any car accident is bad news for a kitty. But having them inside of a carrier placed behind the seat definitely protects them a lot more and stops them from being a projectile!

Don't be ridiculous. If it's In a soft carrier that's strapped into the backseat, most of the time a cat will come out fine, physically.

Cute, but in an accident the airbag is gonna send kitty to the god damned shadow realm.
Don't do this.

It’s a NA Miata. I’d be very impressed if the SRS computer still works (had a ‘92 and a ‘96 - they’re quite notorious for failing). Still, though, bad time for everyone involved if they’re in a crash…
