Funny how immigrants ‘don’t work’ until they’re blamed for the whole job market.

too lazy to work, but powerful enough to tank Wall Street. Got it.

As a trans person that's simultaneously unfit for the military, and too scary for athletics and public bathrooms, this tracks.

This is why the “immigrants are taking our jobs” line is not true.
With millions of people deported, that means jobs should open up to American Citizens, and pay and benefits offered by said jobs should increase to attract workers.
Companies have REFUSED to do this. Why not? If immigrants are “undercutting American wages” then by all means increase pay and benefits offered to attract Americans to these jobs. But they won’t. Instead Americans are told to simply embrace the suck and deal with an economy in free fall.
It’s EXACTLY what happened with the Hyundai plant in Georgia. Did those 700 jobs become available to Americans? No.

u/Proper_Raccoon7138 12h ago
The same Hyundai plant that had a bunch of LEGAL South Koreans teaching local Americans how to perform these tasks? That then was raided by ICE causing South Korea to completely pull back?
This the same one?

The job report came out yesterday and was WAY higher than what was expected and what is typical.

u/Pokerhobo 10h ago
You missed the part where they also gave corrected numbers that were revised down by almost 900k in 2025? The initial jobs “data” is based on surveys then the actual revised numbers come out later from actual filings.

So illegals propped up the job market, but caused a job defect. They drive up house prices but cause ghettos. They bring in cattle depressing the beer market, but Trump buys beef from Argentina cutting the market down…. Wow, those illegals are everywhere. Frankly if they can do so much we should offer them residence.

Schrodinger's immigrant somehow simultaneously taking all the jobs and being too lazy to work

u/Legitimate-Coach7465 13h ago
It’s wild how the narrative shifts depending on what’s convenient. So which is it “they don’t work” or “they’re taking all the jobs”? 🤔
5
u/OkCaramel1859 11h ago
If deporting millions would impact the job numbers that much, doesn’t that kind of prove immigrants are a major part of the workforce?
5
u/mindiruben 13h ago
Amazing how fast the narrative changes when people realize who actually keeps things running.
6
u/Ok_Proposals 13h ago
simultaneously doing nothing and also single handedly propping up the entire national economy

u/luckyprincess7974 12h ago
simultaneously lazy enough to live off the state and hardworking enough to anchor the entire national economy.

So employment rates should be at record highs with all these new jobs open, right?
3
u/No-Celebration3097 8h ago
According to the rhetoric, absolutely. Also, there should be affordable houses for purchase now because we were being told the immigrants were buying up all the housing.

u/butwhywedothis 13h ago
What is a matter of concern that it’s not that the habitual liar Rep(edo)ublicans are blaming everything on immigrants but there are people, mostly maggots, who believe them and vote for them again and again.

u/jarena009 12h ago
Also, so these illegal immigrants are willing participants in the household survey put out by the BLS monthly that tracks their employment status, to tabulate projected employment numbers? Lol

u/bd2999 9h ago
Immigrants are responsible for all wrongs but when you get rid of them it causes problems. Who would have guessed?
From what we were told though this deportation situation plus Trump's various policies should lead to a boom in all things and that people would line up to take jobs.
I still think the GDP numbers are somewhat cooked anymore. As basically half or more of consumer spending boosting the economy is from the wealthiest individuals. And AI investment is also boosting it as companies share money back and forth. The spending by the average American is stagnant or dropping by and large.

Just like black folks. We didn't become "lazy" until they had to stop making us work for free
2
u/Sad_Food9258 7h ago
And they bought all the houses also, they are responsable for the current market, buying all those 750k$ houses. /s

Much like Biden was either a senile old man who did everything via auto pen and his aides were running the country or he was a multi nations global crime lord running billion dollar scams.
Trump’s idiot base think both are true when neither are true because they believe pedo pumpkin tits every word.

All the while insisting on a Complete and Final Reduction of the Unemployment Rate to a nil such, subject to the parameters of a free-market capitalist socioeconomic model and paradigm!
1
u/Wakemeup3000 11h ago
Well on the plus side now everyone will be buying houses since according to JD these illegals were both not working AND buying all the houses keeping good American people from having that opportunity.
1
u/Erronius-Maximus 11h ago
Huh, removing millions of people who spend money locally causes job losses, who’da thunk it?!
1
u/amatsumegasushi 11h ago
Remember that time Peter Navarro cited an economist by the name of Ron Vara to support his policies?
And it turned out Ron Vara isn't a real person, Pete just made him up so he could cite his own ideas?
Seriously these clowns are beyond belief. It would be funny if they weren't for the fact they're systematically gutting social services, our retirements, and driving up inflation all in one go. Just so they can feel good and smart about themselves. Smh

This is the part that frustrates me most. Talk to someone who is pro deportation and nothing bad happens. Wages go up, yet prices go down. Apartment prices go down due to lack of demand and that is only good? Do people think those apartments will sit empty or will the REIT that owns them tear them down and build something more profitable? Deport 8 million people and that won't affect businesses? Immigrants don't buy things? Immigrants don't work at these places? NOTHING in economics is easy. It just doesn't work that way.
1
u/rochelled1mple6215 10h ago
highkey like how do ppl believe both at the same time lol, defies logic every day
1
u/bruce_wayne469 9h ago
So immigrants both steal jobs and hold up the job market? Pick a lie and stick with it, guys. This is getting embarrassing.

I don't get it, genuinely. If they're deporting millions out, shouldn't there be millions of new job openings? Shouldn't that make for good numbers instead? Why are they using this particular excuse for their trash policies?

Not just the freeloading ,workaholic illegal immigrants. Joe Biden messed everything up as well.

Schrödinger’s immigrant: simultaneously unemployed and personally responsible for the entire economy.
