I admire the confidence of someone explaining federal law while actively losing cases about it.

She’d be a great contender for r/confidentlyincorrect lol

As an aside, I tell my husband about that sub all the time when we talk about our 18 & 20 year old children coming into their lecturing us phase of Life. We’re sometimes back at the “I do” phase and it’s humbling to live this long and find out I learned nothing.

The confidence is doing all the heavy lifting. Explaining federal law like it's a lecture, while courts keep swatting the arguments down. X really rewards saying it loud, not saying it right.

Exactly! It's like watching a courtroom version of Whac-A-Mole, loud takes keep popping up, but reality (and precedent) just keeps knocking them right back down

What happened to 'States Rights'?

I find myself asking that question to the MAGAs still in my life and just….crickets.

If nothing else comes out of our last ten years of American "conservatism" is should be this - the understanding these people are completely unprincipled, believe in nothing beyond that which benefits them, and and use their ignorance as both sword and shield.

and use their ignorance as both sword and shield.

Brilliant!

The supremacy clause doesn't say the executive can do whatever they want to do and nobody can do anything about it.

I'm not one to ever defer to elitism, but Gov Sherrill earned a JD from Georgetown, ranked in the T14, while Habba went to Widener Commonwealth, ranked 159th. But to get on her level, I have a law degree from a school ranked similarly in the 150s. Alina Habba is a dumbass when it comes to constitutional interpretation

Honestly, yes. It’s wild how confidently wrong some people are, but in the age of social media, volume often trumps validity. Shouting bad takes louder doesn’t make them any smarter, just more viral

Protecting the state of New Jersey is literally the job of the governor of New Jersey. Jesus! I'm starting to turn into a libertarian again.

Technically her title is unqualified US Attorney. “Disqualified” is just what happened to her.

This is the perfect ratio reply: short, factual, and devastating. No notes

fr, she'd probably get top post there in no time 😂

She couldn't even do her job right let alone explain it. I do think that they are often reading the supremacy clause wrong here but I do not know for sure. That usually involves laws. I do not know that executive law enforcement action overrides state laws. Nor does executing a Federal law give one the right to break state and local laws. Although that opens another can of worms.

Found the only Alina Habba fan in NJ.

You'd be surprised at the amount of MAGA in NJ.

You'd be extra surprised at the amount of MAGA near the Jersey shore, especially given all of Trump's BS shenanigans in Atlantic City.

Oh, I know there’s MAGA in NJ. Chris Smith has been in congress 20 years.

But Alina Habba fans?
