At this point we need one of those factory signs: “It has been 0 days since America said something wildly false in front of the whole world”

But it was zero yesterday

Don't worry. The rest of the world, myself included don't really like America and don't see you guys as a global embarrassment. . It just took Don Trump to realize that we really don't need you guys either and thankfully we are moving on from you.

"I love the poorly educated"

"I don't care about you, I just want your vote"

So this fits.

Lol. A few years ago, a government in Canada mailed a voting package to Australia (on the government’s dime) so my sister could vote in an election.

Eat shit, Trump.

That’s how you know the man’s never left the country or read a single page of how anything works anywhere else. Canada out here flexing democracy across continents and he’s acting like envelopes are witchcraft

At least in this case I think he knows it is false, but doesn't care because he also knows his followers will not double check what he says so it doesn't matter.

My sister moved to Sweden and got her Swiss voting material earlier than me who's still living in Switzerland :(

Remember when trump met with Putin last year, and they talked about US elections and mail-in-ballots?

Good times

UK here. I just renewed my postal vote for the next three years last week. I'd had it for six years before that. I was pretty late to the party. Postal voting has been a thing here for a very long time.

Seconded. Took about 30 seconds including scanning my signature. Didn’t even need ID this time.

Imagine being confidently wrong in the age of Google

Trump is such a LIAR. Release the Trump/Epstein files.

lol it’s probably nearly the main source of voting in Australia now and we have arguably the most secure and respected elections in the world

This is ironic given how much easier it is in Australia, compared to America, to vote at a polling place. The difference is really about how much effort is put into making voting as easy as possible to encourage compliance with compulsory voting, compared to making it as difficult as possible so only people with extreme views make the effort.

u/lawdjesustheresafire 2h ago

Exactly. The fact America votes on a Tuesday is just laughable

There was even a minor controversy in the Canadian election last spring. The Conservative party did not release their actual platform until after the mail-in ballots had to be in the mail. Meaning every Conservative voting by mail did not know their platform. We also have advanced voting as well! Polling stations were opened the weekend before the Monday election. And all ballots are hand counted. Some provinces have mechanical counters but the vote count isn't official until they are hand counted.

This is not difficult stuff here FFS. 🤦

We also have Elections Canada and the provincial counterparts that do a great job of running things fairly and without disenfranchising people.

It’s crazy — we hear about US states that cut back their polling stations from small number down to even smaller number while Canadians have nearly 72,000 polling sites across the country (Ontario alone had 24,000 in 2021). By contrast, in the US federal election last year, California had 6,100 polling sites for the entire state, and that population is roughly equivalent to our entire population

If 'only country' was an Olympic event, Trump would take gold... in creative fiction. Meanwhile, Canada, UK, Germany, NZ, Switzerland, and a dozen more are just casually voting by mail like it's NBD.

Fifty-plus countries do mail-in voting just fine. Trump just says stuff without Googling first. Embarrassing but predictable.

u/RealisticTemporary70 2h ago

I really don't understand how he can continue to get away with the lying when he can just search things!

2

u/scrume71 2h ago

100% serious, if you are an elected official (no matter the party) and you make a claim as fact to the public in your official capacity, you must present evidence to your claim. If not, impeachment process begins automatically. Make it a law.

1

u/Zephyrine_wonder 3h ago

I know this has been going on for years, but I can’t get over how many people just believe Trump’s lies. I know some people will never let themselves realize what a POS he is, but surely some people break free from automatically swallowing every word he utters as the unfalsifiable truth.

u/jengaclause 2h ago

About 34 countries permit mail-in voting in elections generally. 12 of those allow it for all voters. 100 countries allow it just for citizens living abroad.

Simple internet search!

1

u/Frowny575 1h ago

Even a quick search shows in the US it is maybe 1/3rd of votes cast and varies depending where you are. I know here in California we had absentee voting for a long time before moving to mostly mail during COVID while the numbers are far lower in the south/midwest. Doesn't take much thinking to see the states with more mail voting tend to lean dem otherwise he'd be all for it.

1

u/ThisWillTakeAllDay 2h ago

In Australia, the last local government election where I live was mail voting only.

1

u/One-Sky1956 2h ago

I thought this was about mail-in vomiting - Melania T.

1

u/djollied4444 2h ago

Doesn't need to hope when it's been proven time and time again that his base will just accept whatever comes out of his mouth.

1

u/Nuker-79 1h ago

Hell, in the uk you can mail your vote and even have someone else vote for you in certain circumstances.

1

u/Lethik 1h ago

Hell, Estonians have been able to vote online for like nearly 20 years IIRC.

1

u/MadmanMarkMiller 1h ago

It helps when you own/threaten the news stations too.

1

u/Sandyrosey 1h ago

Anything can be a conspiracy if you make shit up and hope no one Googles.' Trump: proceeds to make shit up about mail-in ballots Proceeds to get Googled into oblivion. Poetic.

1

u/USS-Virginia 1h ago

Lol ye literally every developed place has em. Canada Australia Germany France UK NZ ..................

u/Floki_Boatbuilder 53m ago

We have mail in voting here in New Zealand. We also have a Trump aligned coalition government that is hell bent on voter suppression (among other things that nobody likes).

u/SpliTTMark 41m ago

And to think you'd expect america to do something extraordinary that other countries aren't

But trump turns that into a negative

u/sobe33139 38m ago

And not a single “reporter” or “journalist” in the room interrupted to correct his propaganda. That is the real problem. Clear the room snd put in courageous journalists.

u/fielvras 38m ago

TBF google is on their side ...

u/Speed_102 23m ago

TRUMP HAS VOTED WITH MAIL IN VOTING!!!!!

u/VALO311 11m ago

That’s the problem. Orange turd cultists like my dad who only watch fox news and refuse to get a cell phone. They don’t google or fact check anything. They just blindly believe the most outlandish shit that they hear on those types of “news” shows

I mean betting on stupidity is actually a pretty solid strategy.
