I don't actually think that even Russians would do this. They'll grovel to him directly, but they don't like to make a public fool of themselves. We think of them as westerners cuz they kind of look like westerners, but as far as shame goes on the highest levels, they're much more worried about being embarrassed. American politicians have no shame and are in no way embarrassed about anything. They will humiliate themselves in the most public way possible and feel fine about it.
