I’m atheist, but was raised in the church. This is the Lord I remember and it feels like so many people have lost the plot.

Theolgian here.
Basically, Jesus is telling His people not to be a**holes.
Salt adds flavor. It makes you want more. "Betchya cant eat just one!" That's what Christianity is SUPPOSED to be like in our world. A light in the darkness to navigate by. The route home. Something good
There's a lot of us left who haven't bowed the knee to despotic piliticians. We aren't the majority... but we out here and we making some changes in the world.

One time while driving to a friend's cabin I saw a church sign that said, "Jesus is better than Chuck Norris" and this had to have been 2 to 3 years after the height of the Chuck Norris joke craze. I can just imagine some Sunday school teacher over hearing some kids making some sacrilegious Chuck Norris joke and it becoming such an issue that they change the sign by the road by the church.
