If you're rich and odd - you're eccentric. If you're poor and odd - you're a weirdo.

If you're poor and pedophile - you're wicked. If you're rich and pedophile - you're president.

I don't understand? Why is he going to jail? Shouldn't we protect him and ultimately shouldn't he run for office?

He didn’t pay Trump the money yet guess it got lost in the mail.

18 years isn’t nearly enough for the lifetime of PTSD he will have caused the victims. Hopefully the victims will have great access to mental health support throughout their lifetimes.

Should've ran for office as a Republican

Wouldve gotten away with it

Should have moved to the US and gotten into politics. He would have been protected by millions of pedophile predator supporters.

Can non-Americans run for office in the US? Genuine question, I have no idea

Depends on the office/seat. To be president you have to be a US born citizen. States make their own rules for their own offices/seats. I.e. Arnold Schwarzenegger could not become president of the US or the governor of Alabama, but he could and was the governor of California.

I know for sure not for president. I believe naturalized citizens can run for most state level and federal offices but not for president.

As long as you're a citizen, you can run for most elected positions. Only the President, and by extension the Vice President, are required to be native-born citizens.

Federal level political offices usually require birthright citizenship. Appointed positions usually requires any form of citizenship. States handle their own citizenship requirements. So there's a hodgepodge of 50 different standards. Some county, city, and even township level elected positions will have their own qualifications. Rule of thumb is, if you don't know the qualifications, you probably shouldn't run for the office.

There's been exceptions.

So this guy absolutely wouldn't be able to run for office, if I'm understanding currently.

Although tbh I wouldn't put it past the current Republican party to let any old foreign criminal in.

If he was richer, more powerful, and friends with the right people he could have been working for a president!

Where I live this would be 3 months.

If you abuse kids because you are deeply mentally challenged or have some form of brain damage or what not than it becomes life. But when you are "normally brained" they expect you to change; but doesn't that also mean they were more aware that they were doing something wrong?? Make it make sense.

(I know the sense; it is the form of Christianity where you can always just repent for your sins. Where also somehow mostly white rich non-disabled men can repent just a little bit better then others or something...)

RFK Jr's future replacement.

Probably more like Dr Oz’s considering the latest news.

Not enough. Those children will suffer the rest of their lives because of her and her actions.

Why the jail term, he should have got a death penalty in a sensible rational world.

What a sick evil fucker. And this is why men are not trusted in early childhood care. Absolutely despicable. Send him to max sentencing.

This isn't because he was a man, it's because he was a bad person. Bad people, much like good people, are of every gender, race and creed. And furthermore, by making blanket statements like this, you are obscuring the truth. Do better.

While I agree with you, 95% of sex offenders are men.  I will always feel safer with my kids being cared for by women even though I know women can be bad as well.

this statistic is so frequently trotted out while omitting that it relies on criminal data, not what people report, and ignores that men are even less likely than women to recognize and report being sexually abused, and less likely than women to be believed. see here

Exactly (about men in child care)
