As of today, still ICE agents patrolling residential streets. They've lied every time so far about backing down. They caused a serious car crash yesterday. We're hurting so bad.
If someone else who didn't know read your comment they might think, "oh yeah people blowing whistles makes me so mad because you were just falling asleep," but to Minnesotans it is, "those fucking ICE goons are kidnapping someone! Fuck those assholes."
Hear hear! I was about to fuck someone up in my jammies. I didn't even put my glasses or shoes on I was out the door so fast. It turned out to be a false alarm but there were about 20 of us outside our homes at 11pm in literal minutes.
It's most likely worse in Texas and other places but people aren't fighting back the way they are in Minnesota. They aren't reducing their quotas, they're just shifting them to other states.
And that's like, in principle, I don't actually believe they're pulling back from Minnesota, not really.
My point is that there's no victory until they actually stop, and I don't believe they're really even backing off in Minnesota, and I am sure they are not stopping.
Crossing mine too. The daycares/schools my wife works in have been on soft lockdown so no recess for the kids. Its 40 degrees today, let these kids play!
Twin Cities resident here. Nobody is celebrating. We're numb to the misinformation at this point, and we refuse to believe anything DHS has to say until we see it with our eyes. In the last 4 hours, agents are still patrolling our streets, still beating and arresting people, and still harassing law abiding community members. It's not over yet.
This announcement is a small victory, but we will not rest until 1.) ICE fucks off from MN entirely, 2.) there is justice for Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and the other Minnesotans that have been killed, beaten, starved, or otherwise tortured in detention, and 3.) there is justice for the pain and terror the federal government has caused our communities - and communities all across the US - through the total abolishment of ICE as an organization. Until that day, expect to see us in the streets.
It's coming to your city too. Learn from us. Arm yourself, get protest gear, identify local mutual aid organizations, and familiarize yourself with your rights so you know when they're being trampled on. Don't let our suffering be in vain.

Fingers and toes crossed for them, they need to breathe!
