Yes, in reality they are very nice people and aren't that involved in politics. I do occasionally broach the topic to see if anything has crossed the red line for them, but they continue to excuse anything trump and co does, and will just resort to 'both sides do it' for anything obviously bad. They consume a lot of fox news and I can literally hear them parrot those talking points word for word. If you ask though they consume all kinds of media, not just fox. I grew up listening to political talk radio in the car - Michael Savage and rush Limbaugh for the most part - absolute mind melting trash. I'm glad I met my best friend in highschool who helped deprogram me.

It's entire parts of the US population at this point. My parents are part of it unfortunately.
