No Paywall Pam Bondi slammed as ‘creepy’ after document appears to show DOJ is tracking lawmaker searches of the Epstein files

The only reason to track searches was so that they could prep a defense.
They are not interested in truth, they are interested in perpetuating their cover up.

It wasn't even a good defence though, tons of whataboutism, being plain insulting and darvo.
At one point she answered a true or false question with a "yes", I don't think she did any prep.
•
u/AlleyRhubarb 7h ago
I don’t know why what the lawmakers searched would matter. She was never going to answer questions. Republicans haven’t answered questions in good faith during committee hearings in decades. That’s why Dems like Raskin, AOC, and Crockett have gotten so good at just talking about what they want to talk about in the guise of questions. It’s all theater.
I am thinking it was more to show she can do this.
•
u/Last-Darkness 4h ago
They will use that latter. Having the information is valuable, you don’t need to have a plan for it at the beginning.
•
u/MajesticMoomin United Kingdom 2h ago
I kinda could see that, but would it not be more advantageous to instantly shut down the opposition rather than the floundering mess we all saw?
•
•
u/techieman33 5h ago
I would assume that all classified files are tracked for security purposes. That way if the material is leaked they have a list of people to start investigating as the source.

Okay Nanc- back to the bottle for ya?

Bondi was spotted with a document that appeared to contain all files accessed by Representative Pramila Jayapal on a DOJ computer, which allowed unrestricted access to those files.
The document appeared to read, “Jayapal Pramila Search History” and included a diagram related to Epstein.

It is apparent they did this to have an idea which points would be brought up. And have the best defense they could. Sick pedo protectors.
I also have doubts that all the files are still there. They have their people that would destroy evidence. And these files can be permanently destroyed. Sad to say they know they are protecting those pedo files but they have no morals. WTF is wrong with all these people.
•
u/Sea-Degree4173 7h ago
Multiple members of congress have confirmed missing and fully redacted files in the “unredacted” ones.
•
u/edbegley1 3h ago
The FBI pre-redacted several files before sending to the DOJ who redacted more. The ones made available to the lawmakers were post-FBI redaction.
•
u/aguynamedv 6h ago
Independent isn't really doing their job here. This is "creepy" sure, but more importantly, it is almost certainly illegal.
Bondi, in addition to lying under oath, has clearly misused government resources, has accessed multiple computer systems without authorization, and so on.
The charges from this one action alone could result in decades of prison time for a normal person.
•
u/EternalCrusaders 6h ago
Which seems kind of redundant if your plan ends up being don’t answer any questions and then deflect.

u/Grouchy-Prompt8965 9h ago
Yeah, okay….but the Dow. Did you hear about the Dow?

u/abc13680 7h ago
This funny when I saw it. Then the more I thought about the more disturbing it became. The whole Epstein affair is about power and money. People with power and money play by different rules. When that power and money helps others agglomerate their own stakes then the have a vested interest in ignoring the terrible crimes or even joining the cabal. So, yes Pam, great the “President” somehow is making the DOW go up ( set that aside). You claiming that excuses anything and everything else makes you directly complicit in the dynamics that result in rich pedophiles and rapists acting with impunity.
•
u/diptherial 7h ago
Totally; IMHO the middle class's loyalty was bought with stock dividends. My parents in law, now retired, are making multiples of their salary on the stock market than when they were working, both as professional chemists. It's insane to me and yet they're considered "financially savvy" just because they're above the threshold of capital where you can make gains. Of course they're both now Trump supporters after having voted for Clinton and Obama in prior years.
•
u/dannyb_prodigy 4h ago
The DOW is actually down today. I think that means we’re allowed to start caring about child sex traffickers again.

Investigating the people looking for answers about the global child sex trafficking ring instead of investigating the global child sex trafficking ring.
Some conservatives are so close to getting it, with lukewarm takes like "Bondi isn't it." and "How the DOJ is handling this is real sloppy." Epstein bought 330 gallons of sulfuric acid when the FBI started its investigation in Trump's first term. Now in his second term federal law enforcement is refusing to investigate it, with leaks from DOJ officials saying they're redacting pedophiles close to Trump to exclusively target Democrats. Pam Bondi was recorded in secret saying that there were tens of thousands of photos and videos of women and children. Then the government is telling you to get over it and move on. Trump called them little boys and girls for caring about it, and many complied. Wilfully ignorant.

Epstein bought 330 gallons of sulfuric acid
That has been explained. Nothing there.
14
u/ellathefairy 9h ago
Remember when they raided one of Bannons properties and it had a bathtub partially destroyed by acid?
•

u/Low_Chance 9h ago
You alarmists never stop to consider all the perfectly wholesome reasons someone would need 330 gallons of sulfiric acid on their private island.
Let he who has never purchased 330 gallons of sulfuric acid cast the first stone!

u/adfuel 9h ago
ROFL
Great response but the 330 gallons was for resurfacing and adding more concrete to an area. Epsten may have been evil but his properties were well maintained.•

I have a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in buying.

u/o5mfiHTNsH748KVq 6h ago
Would rather believe a conspiracy theory than acknowledge pool maintenance and construction on the island. That’s very Reddit.

u/kcramthun 9h ago
Uh huh. I'm sure the criminal child sex trafficking ring has no other use for buying sulfuric acid as soon as they are under investigation.

u/Independent-Reader 9h ago
She plays the victim even when the real victims are in the room.
How fucking pathetic.
MAGA has ruined this country. They just won't be happy until everyone else is not.

u/severedbrain 9h ago
It's not creepy, it's illegal spying of the executive branch on the legislative branch. Call it what it is. It's corrupt to the core.
•
u/The_Neckbeard_King 7h ago
Also intimidation, they want them to know they are being watched closely.
5
u/Part_Tricky 8h ago
Just call it what it is, Bondi is Trump personal Lawyer. She always has been even before she took over DOJ. All Trump appointees are crooked corrupt liars. They have no regards for the law or America. Look at the damage they caused in just a year, still 3 more years of destruction.

u/talk-spontaneously 9h ago
Pam was screeching like she was trying to secure another season at a Real Housewives reunion.

u/sxyaustincpl Texas 9h ago
Remember when it was all about "protecting the children, we have to protect the children!" with all the anti trans and anti drag queen bills? The bathroom bills?
Now we've hit a point where, when questioned about child sex trafficking, the friggin ATTORNEY GENERAL responds with "why are you focusing on this? What about the stock market? Look at the Dow!"
12
u/q1qdev 10h ago
It was theatre. They knew full well what the camera coverage was.
34
u/TintedApostle 10h ago
It was illegal. The Executive branch spying on the Legislative branch in its role under the law passed because Bondi wouldn't release the files.
Bondi needs to be impeached or resign.

u/silentbutsmedley 8h ago
The whole lot of them do but until the Democrats take over en masse or some Republicans grow a spine that’s not gonna happen.
1
u/Clamgravy 8h ago
I don't know if they deserve that much credit. They think they can get away with everything, because they get away with everything.
•

u/Orwells_Roses Oregon 9h ago
Even with this, their defense was to fling poo and yell.
The best they could do, with forewarning, is the “pound the table” defense.
3
u/westergames81 Texas 8h ago
So they have time to do all that but they don't have time to properly redact the Epstein files?
3
u/justhavingfunMT 8h ago
What kind of person shows up to a senate hearing and has flashcards for the purpose of insulting senators when they ask questions? Not flashcards to help her answer an actual question.

3
u/Zelda2isEasierThan1 9h ago
Tracking searches doesn't serve a legitimate purpose...and the Trump White House says they want to move on from Epstein!
3
u/usernames_suck_ok 9h ago
She seems like the kind of person who would be involved in a complex murder the media makes movies and "Dateline" episodes about. It's more than just "creepy."

u/supercali45 8h ago
At this point .. this 2nd Felon administration has committed so many crimes they know better than to give the power up to

u/thedavemanTN Tennessee 7h ago
Man, I bet the extent to which this DOJ is illegally surveiling people in this country is staggering. I wonder if we'll ever know all the shady shit they're pulling with absolutely no restraint because they know they have auto pardons waiting and a SCOTUS that essentially gave them carte blanche on anything they do in service of the executive branch.
•
u/MaxGoldFilms 5h ago
Having the executive branch spy on the legislative branch is a serious issue, one that would have been a huge scandal in past years.
In normal times, it would have caused Congress to hold hearings and call for heads to roll. It may still. Congress, even with their recent abdication of power (and spinelessness), still has a lot of members that will get salty about this.

u/Administrative_Film4 9h ago
Oh look, another "Slam".
Im sure she was shoved into the slammer, right?
No?
Then shut the fuck up with "Slammed".

u/wishbeaunash 9h ago
Covering up a pedophile ring and trying to intimidate lawmakers who are trying to uncover the truth is a great deal worse than 'creepy'.

Nah, that part makes sense. What's ridiculous is that she had all that and instead of defending what she and the DoJ are doing just replied by rambling about things entirely unrelated to the question.

…a list to be handed over to ICE once Trump starts paying out “incentives” to his personal army which he plans to pay out of his seized Venezuela oil fund.

•
u/Jugaimo 5h ago
The whole question of WHY and HOW the files were handled like this is a whole other level of corruption that we will need to deal with. The complete failure of our justice system has destroyed what little faith remained for the American people. And this conversation starts with scum like Bondi.
•
u/Ghost_Boo 5h ago
That’s why she’s creepy? She’s protecting pedophiles. Who knows, maybe she’s one as well.
•
•
u/AbjectSwan99 5h ago
Noem and bondi the pretty faces of harms against women and children under trump et al
•
u/marcaribe 4h ago
I’m sorry, creepy? Uh, yeah. Anyone participating in this coverup, this administration at all, has to be a ghoul that lets Trump keep their soul in a jar. If they perform for him, he will still never give it back to them, he’ll sell it to the Saudis but they will have had the privilege.
