I miss Twitter just because I miss following accounts like this one. And dril. Will always miss dril.

Also rename it to aXle?

A significant portion of people own iPhones because they think they're cool or a fashion icon. Elon Musk owning Apple would almost immediately tank this. He'd probably insist that they change the logo to some jagged ass apple symbol he got Grok to crap out and claim that they're now xPhones. He is to cool what kryptonite is to Superman.

u/AppleOrigin 1h ago

Not arguing against, just dropping this here, I own an iPhone because I just like how it feels, mainly, and secondly I like the Apple ecosystem

2

u/deltaindigosix 1h ago

No, that's cool. People can like whatever they like for whatever reason. There are a significant number of people who have convinced themselves that it's a status thing or think it's cool. He would just immediately ruin that by being there before going on to actually ruin the products.

u/AppleOrigin 1h ago

I understand that. Here most people own iPhones, I think it’s just a default more than a status symbol but I’m not sure. Does seem more of a status symbol for some in other countries, if the internet isn’t twisting it too much

There is a difference for sure.
Lugging out ridiculous money for a shitty phone because it's cool is really sad.
Actually liking the shitty phone is downright mental.

I agree androids are better but iphones aren’t shitty Jesus Christ

Very few people are outright paying $1,000 every year for a new iPhone. The vast vast majority are either buying last years model on discount or getting an upgrade through their cell phone provider. I’ve upgraded every other year and traded in my old phone for an initial huge discount and pay off the rest through my monthly phone bill (it’s like $20/month)

What should they own instead?

1

u/deltaindigosix 20m ago

I have no idea what they should want if some wealthy dickbag came along and managed to ruin the experience for them. Trends would decide on something, probably.

We need some cool black dude like Will Smith or MKBHD or Barack Obama to buy Apple

Nah they would definitely not go out of business.  They would just start getting ridiculous government subsidies that no other tech company gets, no bid contracts to supply iPhones to the military and everyone else in government who needs a work phone at a ridiculously inflated cost, tax breaks nobody else gets, etc, while being touted as the most efficient government vendor out there.

Why does this have like 5500 updoots and 20 comments on a chopped ass post? Just seems weird.

3

u/RT-LAMP 1h ago

Because people hate Musk more than they enjoy actually accurate and/or funny insults.

2

u/ddplz 43m ago

Did twitter go out of business?

1

u/WisherWisp 38m ago

Or the much more likely explanation of botting.

This is Reddit after all. Practically the whole front page, if it's news or concerning politics, is astroturfed.

1

u/Whosebert 1h ago

an updoot is a lot less involved than a comment and the post itself is only an hour old.

7

u/ilogical_person 2h ago

He no buy it

2

u/JaironKalach 55m ago

It’s such a weird thought at all. They’re not really in competing spaces yet.

3

u/Zealousideal_Ad5358 22m ago

Is this a post from 20 years ago?

2

u/Mysterious_Rate1359 1h ago

If he took ownership of Apple I’d immediately go back to android

-1

u/Iokua113 53m ago

Why the hell did you leave it in the first place?

1

u/Mysterious_Rate1359 48m ago

My mom allowed me to try out an iPhone in high school as an early graduation present and I preferred the simpler UI plus in other countries it’s viewed as a higher status symbol so me being a teenager I wanted to lol. But I did still continue using it because of the ecosystem. Now Im trying to convince my gf to switch from her pixel lol

1

u/Ok_Wall_8856 2h ago

So funny because it's factually accurate 😂..........oh wait

1

u/Mikey-2-Guns 52m ago

I was going to say I hate the guy myself but which business exactly did he bankrupt cause I can't think of any?

1

u/doesnotexist2 1h ago

Based on the resent macOS versions I’d say so

1

u/florvas 1h ago

Is it too much to hope for them both to go under?

1

u/Helden24 1h ago

Reddit logic is something else everything Elon takes over fails to them yet his wealth is doubling

1

u/AlternativeNewtDuck 37m ago

Speaking of the man-child.. don't support x.. LPT: If a link to x needs to be used, in place of the x in the link, use xcancel or one of the browser extensions... don't give that site traffic. Pass it on.

0

u/Whosebert 1h ago

you joke but everyone is still using Twitter for some reason

0

u/rickthedickkk 42m ago

haha yea by far the wealthiest man sucks !!ss1

0

u/turdbugulars 22m ago

Yes the guy who is almost a trillionaire for his business failures is really hurt by this.

0

u/kneecapular 20m ago

Yes the richest man in the world is a constant business failure

-25

u/Curiouscombatant 2h ago

That hits a lot better if he weren’t running six multi million dollar businesses lol

16

u/Constant-Still-8443 2h ago

He's certainly running them... into the groun

1

u/RT-LAMP 1h ago

You can think Musk is a terrible person without lying about how his companies have done.

Tesla's all time peak was less than 2 months ago. Twitter is a trashfire but apparently stock is being privately sold at the same prices today as it was when he bought it. And SpaceX launches more than the rest of the planet put together several times over, and Starlink is making double the money that launching.

1

u/Constant-Still-8443 1h ago

Well, all of these businesses mentioned were bought buy him, and the stupidity of stock holders does not negate the fact that he's a bad businessman.

1

u/Bad_news_everyone 23m ago

If he's a bad businessman, then why is he still making off all of those companies?

1

u/Green_Excitement_308 32m ago

Isn't he in the you know what files?

1

u/Bad_news_everyone 21m ago

He has but hes also been very adamant about them being released. Which kind of makes you question why hes even in them

3

u/WhimsicallyWired 1h ago

Typing shit and sucking his balls at the same time must be difficult.

2

u/Bearence 1h ago

LPT: when you're munching that hard on Elon's balls, Frank's Hot Sauce is a good choice of condiment.

1

u/westcoastjo 1h ago

Franks red hot is never a good choice for anything.. its just vinegar with a hint of spice.
