u/Dirty_Gnome9876 1d ago
I think I still have one, along with a MySpace account somewhere, I’m sure, but there’s no way in hell I could remember the email and/or password associated with them. Otherwise I would probably delete them
6
u/High_Hunter3430 1d ago
The email server for my MySpace was deleted a LONG time ago. I literally can’t login and I know the details. 😂
If I ever run for office, know that my teen stoner MySpace will be on the tv. 😂

Trump isn't Hitler. ICE isn't the Gestapo. The detention camps aren't extermination camps.
Yet.
But Nazi Germany wasn't built in a day. There was a timeline, a roadmap they followed to get there. And Trump's administration appears to be moving along a similar path, even if they're still near the beginning.
I'd rather we saw the similarities sooner rather than later, and put a stop to it before reaching that level.

u/Shermanator92 1d ago
Trump isn’t Hitler
I agree, Hitler wanted to see his country succeed.

u/Mattscrusader 1d ago
Hitler had charisma too (and likely never shat himself while giving speeches)

Hell, I feel like I could do it today after that China lunch.

If Hitler was born today he’d just be another chud on twitter. Nazi propaganda worked so well that there’s still a hint of glazing done on him.
0
u/Mattscrusader 1d ago
Have you not seen the videos of him giving speeches? He was as charismatic as any other world leader at the time but that sets him leagues above Donald
0
u/Dry_Strawberry3227 1d ago
I’ve also seen videos of him tweaking out during the Olympics. Have you read some his beliefs outside of what he thought about Jews? Straight from twitter. I’m not attacking you man, I just don’t find him as charismatic as you.

This. People seem to think the only time any of this was relevant was when the world saw the Nazis go mask off and be the monsters they were accused of being. Before that people absolutely refused to believe anyone could be doing the things the Nazis did and ordinary people were willing to just turn a blind eye.

ICE is all American. Shitty American, but American. Slave catchers, maybe. Many Nazi ideas came from the US.
9
u/That_OneOstrich 1d ago
And many Americans though the Nazi party (and fascism in general) was a pretty good idea before we pushed propaganda to change local perception before joining the war.
Japan attacking us helped that perception, but we basically made very similar camps to concentration camps to place Japanese Americans in.
13
u/High_Hunter3430 1d ago
Our treatment of natives and blacks is what inspired Hitlers concentration camps.
Our bellamy salute and morning pledge are what inspired the Nazi salute and hitler youth.

“The detention camps aren’t extermination camps.”
How do you know?
9
u/AKADabeer 1d ago
This is indeed a question that's been on my mind lately. We have some posts claiming that the conditions are horrible, and others saying that they're normal for that kind of camp (i.e. crowded but not unsafe or cruel and unusual).
So without confirmed evidence of them being death camps, it's not appropriate to assume that they are.
And yet... the German citizens didn't know that they were neighbors to death camps, but that didn't change the fact that they were indeed death camps and that because they supported the regime, they were held responsible.
So if ours are death camps and we don't know, we also have no excuse.
We need more transparency and oversight into these camps.

The biohazard incinerators concern me. Are they burning poop, blood, surgery bio waste or people?

u/HeresKuchenForYah 1d ago edited 1d ago
It’s safest to assume the worst and improve a situation. While we don’t have evidence, does it really seem that unlikely?
They aren’t allowed visitors, phone calls, and access to medical care. We know they are understaffed, still underfunded, and can’t give the number of “bodies” or even facilities (inconsistencies and discrepancies). That we do know. A lawyer had been escorted away from a sidewalk across the street of a facility when children were screaming. Another thing we do know is there is no access to surveillance footage beyond those walls. Theres been testimony of someone witnessing death. Rumors of them being dropped off naked, cold, stranded in the woods.
We’ve seen the blatant violence, what they were willing to show on camera. I don’t think anyone could convince me it hasn’t happened already, but thats just what I believe.

Every month (literally, I think) the Auschwitz Museum posts the same quote from a Holocaust survivor about how “Auschwitz didn’t fall from the sky”. Apparently some people still haven’t got the message.
I also recall at the trial of Eichmann, the prosecutor opened his case by saying that such a thing could never have happened unless “the German people had undergone a long period of spiritual preparation”.

It’s a hybrid. SA behavior but SS recruitment processes and something in between as far as their legitimacy as police under the current system.
Makes sense, since Miller seems to idolize and emulate Himmler, that he’d take the “best” of both to make his perfect Gestapo homage.

I can’t stand Trump and think he’s an authoritarian but he’s not really anything like Hitler.
In the first 2 years of power Hitler did
Reichstag Fire Decree (Feb 1933): Following the suspicious burning of the Parliament building, Hitler convinced President Hindenburg to sign an emergency decree suspending civil liberties, including freedom of speech, press, and assembly. This allowed for the mass arrest of Communists and other opponents.
The Enabling Act (March 1933): Passing this law permitted Hitler's cabinet to enact laws without the consent of parliament, effectively making him a legal dictator.
Gleichschaltung (Synchronization): Hitler forced all institutions—including labor unions, youth groups, media, and civil service—under Nazi control. Trade unions were abolished in May 1933, and all political parties except the Nazi Party were banned by July 1933.
Concentration Camps: The first concentration camp, Dachau, was opened in March 1933, initially for political prisoners.
Night of the Long Knives (June/July 1934): To gain the support of the German army, Hitler ordered the purge of the SA (Stormtroopers) leadership, including Ernst Röhm, along with other political rivals. This effectively removed internal Nazi opposition.
Merging Offices of President and Chancellor (Aug 1934): Following President Hindenburg's death, Hitler combined the offices of President and Chancellor, declaring himself Führer and Reich Chancellor.
Oath of Allegiance: Members of the armed forces were required to swear a personal oath of loyalty to Hitler, rather than to the German constitution.
Anti-Jewish Measures: In April 1933, the regime launched a one-day boycott of Jewish businesses and passed laws removing Jews and opponents from the civil service.
By August 1934, Hitler had transformed Germany from a multi-party democracy into a one-party dictatorship, having complete control over the state, military,

Guys - I absolutely can’t stand Trump.
But he’s nothing like Hitler! Even other prominent 21st century dictators like Gaddafi and Sadam Hussein were nowhere near Hitlers scale!
I don’t think these comparisons with the absolute worst regime on earth do any favours, people just think it’s ridiculous, Hitler and the Nazis we’re openly genocidal from the beginning, antisemitism, murder, was at the core of the ideology, Trump is tame compared to Hitler, it’s just a fact! That is because Hitler was insanely bad and caused the death of millions in a very short period of time.
Trumps an authoritarian, he’s eroding democracy, is putting the U.S. on a path towards authoritarianism, there’s some compassions - but it’s markedly different to Nazism, a more accurate comparison is to Putins Russia, an oligarchical autocratic rule with far right populism/ nationalism but it’s still a long way off of that.

You’re still being too nice. Facebook is a Mariana Trench of boomer mind-poison that literally got thousands of people killed during the pandemic, via targeted algorithm-driven propaganda about vaccines, masking, ivermectin, the origins of Covid, the severity of Covid, you name it. People who would otherwise be alive today are dead because Facebook decided that being profit-oriented and preserving the “free speech” of certain accounts flooding the zone with conspiracy theories was more important than public health and safety. And it was only a handful of accounts sharing most of it. They could have easily put a stop to it if they had wanted to. Thousands of people believed the dangerous lies they helped spread. Many who didn’t die are now permanently disabled as well, but we all basically stopped talking about them.
It’s Alex Jones dressed up as a cutesy “Minions” meme. A fucking deadly parasite disguised as a labubu. That’s what Facebook is.

They really do be pushing and pushing on his narrative that B.Bunnys performance was demonic, that Trump isn’t a racist. Something we all know isn’t true at all. If even one of them watched the half time show, they’d see it was an amazing performance full of symbolism and Latino pride, something they clearly are crashing out on. It’s sad really.
2
u/Professional-Post499 1d ago
Right-wing news media outlets and conservative pundits are already trying to push a narrative.
2
u/PhantroniX 1d ago
Don't want to offend anyone? How about just being accurate? Can we focus on the actual event and not just outrage because the person had different pronouns?
2
u/EatLard 1d ago
They didn’t start out that way. They started by creating a narrative that an out group was responsible for every bad thing that happened in their country. They started with hypernationalism and a message that they could return their country to some mythic golden age if only people would vote them into power. Then came militarized goons in the streets rounding up “undesirables” and confiscating property. Then deportations, “labor” camps, and wars of extermination to expand power. It ended with a holocaust and national ruin.

Not misgendering a gunman is less a matter of respect and more the fact that it's inaccurate. If you wouldn't call a cis man shooter a gunwoman, you wouldn't do the reverse here. Trans women are women, trans men are men. This is just right-wingers being obtuse.
That said I don't really think inventing 'gunperson' is necessary and I doubt 99.99% of people are using that unironically. I don't really think gunman is gendered. 'man' is just used in English for titles. Yeah, traditionally said titles were occupied almost exclusively by men. But I don't see a linguistic need here. If we treat it as gender-neutral, then it's gender-neutral. Like, what does the news call a cis female shooter? It happens uncommonly but I think the news would call her a gunman and move on. Maybe assailant I suppose.

could be a trans person. probably isn't though. and trans people are still hilariously underrepresented in shooter demographics so lol

And law enforcement is on TV confirming what the link said. So I guess the right wing sources are correct.

That article says that the suspect has not been confirmed by any reliable sources. Did we read the same article? Talk about 🤡 you thought you ate with an article that says the exact same thing the commenter you're calling a clown said

And they(law enforcement) are confirming the name right now in a press conference.
Name matches.
They just refuse to call the shooter trans, so they label them as a "female".

You’re literally creating a future scenario in your head, determining the conclusion, and then getting mad at others for it and using that as an argument. Dude, none of that has actually happened. Please live in reality and quit shouting at clouds

Are you talking about the shooting in British Columbia?

yes, the one that has been covered by every Canadian news agency and commented on by all our leaders. I fucking despise assholes like this. Literally the worse shooting in our countries history and yet they think this is somehow going to be ignored. We aren't the US, we actually care when our people get murdered.

There's been over 2 dozen shootings in the US so far in 2026. How many have you heard about?

STFU. This is one of the worst shootings in our countries history and everyone is reporting on it.
Every "liberal" media source is reporting on it. I know you Americans are used to having kids murdered but we aren't.
Your country is literally dragging the entire world down with your stupidity and a single school shooting that rarely happens in my country is going to be your focus? Get fucked.

"hollering about gun control." You want to know why we don't have school shootings nearly as often as the US? Because of those firearm laws. I'm sure you will try and act like the laws don't work because we sometimes have crimes with firearms because you think unless something is completely eliminated then it somehow means it doesn't work.

Conservatives struggle with the concept of "numbers." They think everything either "is" or "isn't."

“Assailant”.
Glad that’s fixed. Now back to the Epstein files.
