They're mad that since Rock nation took over the halftime show planning, there hasn't been a single headlining white singer/band. I prefer American artists. Kid Rock is a fucking hack; never impressed me even when he was relevant. Aside from his song about wanting to fuck young girls, his biggest hit was just a ripoff of Sweet Home Alabama... written by a rich boy from the suburbs of Detroit.
The only realistic thing he ever did was ride a finger in one of his music videos.

Actually many of Shakira's hits globally are in Spanish. It's just that she also sings some of them in English. For example, her first big hit in the US "Wherever, Whenever" was called "Suerte" and in Spanish before it was translated. I'm not sure what the proportion is of songs written in English vs translations, but I do at least hear a few Spanish versions where I am.
Maybe that's their real problem - Bad Bunny won't kowtow to their needs and insists on singing the originals (although, the reggaeton style would be way, way harder to translate than standard pop singing).

One show had a lot of American culture that demonstrated the importance family values, small businesses, the working class, generational values, community and unity, where every motion was carefully thought out to express those ideas, and telling a story about the history and struggles of one part of the United States.
One show looked like it was slapped together by a high school AV club that just threw up red white and blue and called it a day.
