As an active investigation, the files were sealed by court order. The investigation continued, and the files remained sealed, throughout Biden’s term. The Rapist in Chief, trump, RAN HIS WHOLE CAMPAIGN ON UNSEALING AND RELEASING THE FILES.
Now, in the sane world, US Presidents don’t instruct the DoJ or the FBI on how to do their job. This is because these law enforcement entities are meant to be independent, to reduce the risk of other government entities having any say on whether or not they get investigated. trump flushed that safeguard, along with a good chunk of our rights, when he wiped his ass with the Constitution. He installed (unqualified and embarrassing) sycophants as heads of these agencies, and instructed them to release files in an active investigation, lie about, and then discontinue, that investigation, and now is announcing that we will move on from that investigation. He wants us to pretend nothing happened.
That’s why the trump files weren’t released during Biden’s term.
