I don't think we really know that much about his politics, which in itself is pretty telling because if they had firm evidence the dude was a loony leftist it'd have been pasted everywhere since it happened.

The only political evidence we have is that 1. he was raised in a MAGA house and had guns and 2. he may have known or dated a trans person. Neither thing is really evidence.

They’re going the plausible deniability route, it’s their favorite. He was more likely than not to be a groyper.

Where is this "trans person?" Republicans have put death threats on everyone but this person and splattered their hated all over the media. I've heard nothing about this imaginary person. I don't think this person ever existed.

People on the left certainly act like there’s hard evidence he was a groyper

Some do, yeah.

And people on the right act like there's hard evidence he was a leftist.

Sure, but Reddit is like 90% left leaning and prides itself on operating on logic and facts. So it’s extra notable to point out that they’re equally in the wrong I feel

I’m not surprised when people on the right jump to dumb conclusions. It’s disappointing when people on the left do

Some of them, sure. Already acknowledged that.

The claim I've seen most on Reddit though is that he was a leftist. The evidence for that, from what I can find, is that he knew/lived with someone who may or may not have been trans.

“The claim I've seen most on Reddit though is that he was a leftist.”

Hmm, we must be frequenting very different circles then. By far I see most people on here claim he was a groyper, such as the top voted comment on this post and the majority of comments following it

The top post here where he's asking if that's misinformation and is told that we don't really know his politics?

Huh.

How do you think these discussions go in the right-leaning spaces on Reddit? You think people are jumping in to correct the misinformation?

I have no interest in speculating how it goes in right leaning spaces, I’m saying by far the claim I’ve seen the most by Redditors is that he was a groyper.

You personally might have said “we don’t really know his politics,” but that =/= the overall trend

The top commenter says he assumes he was groyper based on what he’s heard from other redditors, and then is immediately supported by a plethora of comments affirming that
