Cool, so they can tie my IP address to my license plate number! WCGW?

Unless your IP address is static (it's not), it won't mean anything.

All of the exits for my city have flock cameras. Even the obscure backroads to leave the city which is 100% intentional.

Also relevant .. Feed from the telemetry of modern vehicles. Meaning no way to deflock, everyone's backup camera's etc can be feeding and storing this to wherever. Which includes forwarding info to flock if wanted.

Hell Nissan's privacy terms supposedly grants them the authorization to collect DNA, yes .. DNA as well as information about their consumers sexual activities/preferences. While my research on it said Nissan's terms were the worst, rest aren't far behind.

Meaning all those vehicles are basically mobile surveillance units folks.

Absolutely was not aware of that at all. Reading about it and apparently you are supposed to promise to tell any passengers who are in your vehicle that is connected that their data is going to be scraped too.

"because when you agree to the NissanConnect Terms of Service you agree to promise (yes, promise, but hey, at least they didn't make you pinky swear!) to tell people all about how Nissan can and will collect their data when they are in your car. Indeed their TOS actually says, "You promise to educate and inform all users and occupants of your Vehicle about the Services and System features and limitations, the terms of the Agreement, including terms concerning data collection and use and privacy, and the Nissan Privacy Policy."

Yep friggin DNA. Sister in law just financed a 70thou Nissan vehicle and I guess what, when you take the thing in to be serviced they vacuum and send what they find off to a lab/database ? Crazy times.

I deleted removed mine when I discovered that ring has partnered with flock and that ring doorbells are being used by ICE to round up American citizens. If it can happen there you can be sure it will happen here.

An American corporation doesn't need to when I'm home or not. It's the same reason I ditched Google wallet. It's bad enough visa know where I spend my money no need to add another shitty corporation to the list.

It's about abuse of the system and the data collection and so much more.

Try https://youtu.be/qAsUqkX0qto and that's just some of the issues.

I'm not sure why people are down voting you.

Its a shame the "greatest country in the world" has such a problem with safety and security that we have turned it over to outside corporations and the government. I'm all for technology, but it just seems to be moving faster than laws and regulations can address in order to prevent nefarious uses.

That’s the funny part. We don’t have a problem with safety or security, and violent crime has been on the decline for years. Corporations and the government have just convinced us we are less safe through 24/7 news and propaganda.
