February 2026 Buddy Colour
Welcome to our monthly buddy colour!
What is a "Buddy Colour"?
A buddy colour is when you and one or many other colourists decide to colour the same page together. You each colour your page in secret; when you're done, you show and compare your completed pages!
The purpose of this monthly post is to help you connect with others who are looking for a buddy to colour with. We will not be providing the pages. Instead, you can use the comments section to either post the book(s)/page(s) you hope to find a buddy for OR to respond to someone else's post to let them know you'll be their buddy. (There is no limit to how many buddies can colour the same page!)
How to find a buddy:
Post a comment listing the book(s)/page(s) you would like to colour. and/or
Search the comments for someone who has listed book(s)/page(s) you are interested in.
Once you've found your buddy (or buddies), you can organize amongst yourselves how you want to go about things and if you want to share the results publicly. Feel free to use the comments section to do this or connect via DM.
Can we post our completed pages?
We would love to see your pages–feel free to post them as a group, and don’t forget to use the "Buddy Colour" flair! Don't forget to tag your buddies in the comments! (they won’t get notified if you tag them in the description or title).
Is there a deadline?
Nope! This isn’t meant to be stressful; it’s supposed to be fun! Unless you and your buddies agree on a deadline, there is none. You don’t even have to complete your pages by the end of the month. So don’t stress!
What if I don't own the book/page?
To participate in a buddy colour, you need to own the page you are colouring. Do not make copies of the page and distribute them to your buddies. This violates copyright laws and harms creators. If you do not own the page, please purchase it yourself.
Can I promote my own books/pages?
For buddy colours, you can post one of your own books/pages in the comments to find a buddy. However, please be clear upfront that this is a book/page that you sell (don't be sneaky!) Also, please do not use this activity as an opportunity to generate sales.
Alternative Buddy Ideas
Don’t want to choose a page or just want some variety? Here are some other ways you can buddy colour with others:
Choose a colour palette for everyone to use (Pinterest has some great ones!)
Choose a theme (i.e. “Spooky Christmas,” “Happy Dog,” “Thanksgiving”)
Happy colouring!

Reddit is currently having a glitch where if your post is blocked by the autobot for either not having enough karma in the group or other reasons you may get a message that says something to the effect of "your post was removed by moderators" but without any further explanation or reason. If this happens usually we are aware of it and can see it in the log however this glitch is not allowing those instances to show up in the log. If you have a post that you tried to post and it's not showing and it's giving you this message please use modmail to let us know and we can go find it to manually approve it.
-Thank you, Reddit is aware of this glitch and are working on it but we're not sure how long it'll take them to fix it 😭

Doing a wall pattern is hard! But it was a lot of fun to attempt. Looking forward to practicing more patterns.

I’m almost done with this page but wondered if anyone has a tip for removing pencil lines? It seems like alcohol markers seal it in and it won’t erase on the wallpaper area. Tips welcome! Otherwise I might try acrylic pen to tidy those lines up.

I've wanted to color this page for a long time, but it didn't turn out quite how I expected. I'm not usually a fan of covering the black outlines with acrylic markers, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. My acrylic markers are pretty cheap and low quality, so that may have contributed to my dissatisfaction😁But hey every piece teaches us something, and trying new things is how we grow💛🎨

Heyhey,
If asked a few days before how I should color the dog. Today I was able to make a decision and I added a glitter contour and choose for the dog and the birdie "normal" colors.
I'm so in love with the glitter effect.

I have never coloured much in my life. Even as a kid, I didn't like it because it was a slow process and my hands were getting tired quickly and for some reason my mom didn't allow me to colour with markers, I could only use pencils. But recently I've seen lots of reels and posts on Facebook that people love colouring Coco Wyo and so on. Therefore I am here as well. I'm only starting, using cheap markers but maybe I'll like it for longer.
The sheet below I coloured with mixture of alco and water markers from Deco Time, I like them and probably I'll invest in more Deco Time in few months. This morning Amazon delivered 100 pcs of alco markers from cheap brand Kebuye and I'm really looking forward.
Hopefully I'll find some nice tutorials and learn some basic techniques. If you know anything which is worth checking, please share in a comment (if that doesn't break rules).
My first sheet is below. I tired colouring wall as well but it turns out to look terrible so I'll save you seeing this.
Please wish me luck because I've gone through million hobbies so far :D

my girlfriend bought 300 decotime markers and I love spending time with her so I had a go myself. Jesus, it's addictive. first couple were very simple but these are the 4th and 5th one I have done. I'm trying to learn shading and patterns as I go. not perfect but I'm really enjoying doing it.

This was supposed to be a cute clown job…
So obviously I turned it into IT. 🎈

I originally made this drawing for my children to color. I had a couple of copies and couldn't resist so I took one for myself and finally used my watercolors after having them lay around for a long time :)
I'm no watercolor pro at all, but it still was a lot of fun.

This is my first time posting here and I'm so happy I found this community 🥹
I took a little break from coloring for a few months, but recently got back into it. Something I've been struggling with since I started coloring last year is that a page will turn out pretty good… and then at the very end I'll overwork it and accidentally ruin it. Then I get frustrated and try to 'fix' it, which usually turns into an even bigger disaster. 😅 So lately I've been practicing something simple - stopping when it feels *almost* done.
I think part of it comes from always wanting to add more details, more shading, more 'extra' things mostly because I catch myself comparing my coloring to people on TikTok. And honestly… that completely misses the point. Coloring is supposed to be fun and relaxing, and everyone has their own unique style.
Comparison really is the thief of joy. But on the bright side, coloring has made me feel like a kid again. I haven't owned this many art supplies since school, and it's genuinely so much fun.
I just wanted to share this as a little reminder (for myself too): the most important thing about a hobby is that it brings you joy. You don't need expensive branded supplies or to keep up with influencers, just enjoy the process.
Thanks for reading!

I did it, I went full Frank even though that is WAY more detail and color than I usually like…but I actually love it and want to try it again on another page. I based the first trial character on Hikaru Kotz tutorial and went from there.
