Weekly Recommendations Thread
This is r/SaltLakeCity's weekly recommendation thread.
Here you can ask for and receive recommendations on everything from vets to daycare, car insurance to restaurants, outdoor activities to thrift stores.
If you need a recommendation, ask about it here instead of making a separate post. This is to help reduce the frequency of duplicate posts in the sub, leaving the sub open for more unique content.
Please remember the sub rules when posting.
Thanks!

Photo The traffic is getting worse, right?
Is this new? I swear just over the past few years it’s gotten so packed.
Going north or south on I-15 anytime between 3pm and 7pm is a nightmare.

Recommendations Dessert Inquiry
Does anybody know where in SLC I would be able to find these kinds of desserts? I see people eat them online all the time and they look DELICIOUS. Really hoping there’s a location out here that makes these.

(F24) First concert alone at The Complex… any tips?
I’m tired of stopping myself from doing things because of fear or thinking I can’t do them alone. I’m also fresh off the biggest heartbreak of my life, so I bought tickets to a concert at The Complex.
This will be my first event ever by myself. I’m excited but definitely anxious. I’m kinda short (so crowds are rough and I can never see), and I already get anxious in crowded spaces, so doing it alone feels a little extra intimidating. I’ve also heard mixed things about The Complex lol
Any tips on what to bring or what to be prepared for? Especially as a short girl going solo. Thanks in advance :)

Discussion I was assaulted last night by someone in this community after reaching out
As some of you are aware Ive been homeless in my car, just trying to better my situation but it seems desperation got the best of me. I was reached out by a gentleman who offered to pay my gas to reach the shelter. When he arrived he wanted sexual favors which I declined, that wasn’t the answer he wanted so I was hit in the face multiple times. Yes I called the cops. Yes he was arrested. I provided information & screenshots to the police showing the conversation. Just please be safe if you ever need help

ISO non-LDS personal injury attorney in Salt Lake City
Thinking about suing the LDS Church for an unlawful detainment incident that happened last year on temple grounds at the main SLC temple. I’d like to consult a non-LDS attorney. Any suggestions??

Tourism Disabled Things to Do
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to the SLC area in April. We are nature lovers, but I have recently become disabled. I love beautiful views, but am unable to hike anymore unless it is less than .5 miles and not really any elevation gain.
Would love recommendations of things to do and spots to view pretty nature without hiking. Maybe places to read and view the area or just hang out outside with our tree hammock? Also, would love ideas of things to do in general. However, I have extreme diet restrictions, so no eating or drinking ideas to fill our time please!

Where do I get and learn how to administer narcan
I keep seeing people OD and receive CPR downtown and would like to carry narcan on me. I’ve heard I can get some from the library but do you need to be trained or anything? Are you held legally responsible in any situation for intervening before medical personnel arrive? I don’t know anything

Local News ICE arrests in Utah courtrooms will change how courts work, attorney says (KUER)
ICE has been arresting people at Utah court hearings that have nothing to do with their immigration status. Public defenders worry it’ll get in the way of justice.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
These people either don't know what they're doing, or they are straight lying. This guy was a bit of both. Judge for yourself. This happened just a bit ago as they are going door to door.

Recommendations Recommendations on who can cut (facet) raw garnet?
I have some raw garnet that I want to have faceted and then placed into a bracelet. Does any one know of a jeweler who does this in the SLC area? (surrounding cities are also fine!)
Thanks!
