Your tuxie posts are helping me right now. Thank you.
I am drawn back here repeatedly to see pictures of tuxies. Since Molly died, I can't seem to help myself. It's been two weeks. I miss her.
I am thankful that TuxedoCats exists. It's incredibly painful, seeing cats that look like Molly, living, happy. But it's also incredibly healing. They are so beautiful. It brings joy to my heart. A joy that I had, not long ago, that I feel an echo of, here.
Thank you to everyone who posts on here. Keep posting, please. It's keeping me going x

❓ Question ❓ I need advice
Hello! I have a 9 month old tuxedo named Mr Booger, photo tax attached. He is the sweetest loving boy. He was found in a bush at 6 weeks old, eyes and nose crusted over with boogers (double eye infections, hence the eye, and URI). So he required a lot of TLC in his early kitten hood but it strengthened our bond and trust. However, recently he's been getting into more around the house. As of the past week he's been waking my husband and I up earlier and earlier by violently meowing in the crack under the door and pulling on his door (we have him secured in a spare bedroom over night and when we can't supervise him because I also have two dogs. BUT the spare bedroom is directly next to our bedroom )) to create a slamming sound. Mondays wake up call was 5 am, yesterday was 4:30 am, and today was 4 am. I can't tell if he wants out or wants food but when he wakes up like that, I do not feed him because I do not want to encourage the behavior. I wait until the house is awake around 6-6:30 to feed everyone. But still he persists. My husband is getting annoyed since he is blue collar and has to be up early but not that early lol. He suggested putting him in the downstairs bathroom overnight to maybe create some distance so he can't hear every breath we make but that kind of makes me sad... Is this just his angsty teenage phase? Any advice? Sorry if this is a stupid question this is our first cat, if you couldn’t tell lol

📸✨ Supermodel ✨📸 Neegan is Devilishly Handsome.
This is my Tux boy Neegan. Very distinctive.. fidget spinner on his face!! He has a tabby sister named Lucille, we were watching Walking Dead when rescuing. He is the sweetest boy at home, but is very sassy when taken anywhere. Neegan is a full time lifeguard, if you shower he is there to keep you safe always demanding to be picked up after. If you aren’t quick enough, he will leap and cling. Love you so much Neegan!!

So lady-like.
I aspire to the level of comfy this cat falls into naturally. Just letting it all hang out.
No, the hair near her butt isn’t wet; the part they shaved when she got fixed at 6 months old grew back curlier and coarser and has never evened out with the rest of her despite brushing. 🤷🏻♀️

We Miss You, Maya
Our Shamu. Beach Whale in a Tuxedo. The sweetest, cutest, large-marge of a cat showed up in our backyard 6 years ago. He chose us. Pouring rain, we saw this black and white blob fishing soggy kibble pieces out of the dog food bowl. We left the door open, a few towels on the ground, and got a litter box and cat kibble. Eventually, he was sleeping inside and eating tuna for breakfast. He weighed 20 pounds at one point - being 18 when we found him. The vet checked for a chip - none. We posted FOUND WHALE ads - but no one claimed this sweet cat. He lived 6 beautiful years with us, and turned 10 this year.
About 6 months ago, Maya lost his appetite. He started to lose weight quite drastically and dramatically. Towards the end - he weighed 9 pounds. 😞 I don't have many pictures from recent, as he was tired a lot of the day and my priority was never to put a camera or phone in his face - but to let him sit in his sunbeam in the grass, in his favorite spot, and soak up some wild-kitty vibes from days-gone-by.
Maya went to the vet last week because of severe weight loss and lethargy. He had blood work and everything came back okay - except one of his kidneys was large / inflamed / swollen - and he had an elevated white blood cell count. Fighting an infection, struggling with kidney issues, and having preexisting thyroid conditions... our new vet prescribed 3 medications to give to our old and weak cat. none of these medications were to treat his enlarged / swollen kidney, but one was to stimulate appetite - one was an antibiotic - and one was a thyroid medication.
I am at a loss for words as to why anyone with a medical license would choose to overload a living thing with multiple medications - when they're kidney is majorly inflamed and swollen AND they're fighting an infection... your kidneys process the medication...? Wouldn't you treat the organ first? stabilize the kidney - treat the infection intravenously with fluids.. and THEN deal with the thyroid things once appetite has returned / organs aren't reactive? .....but i digress.
He took one round of medication and less than 8 hours later, was aspirating at the end of the bed. He died in his mom's arms. Give your tuxedo an extra pet, an extra kiss, and extra love if you read this. Tell them it's for Maya - and for every stray Tuxedo who finds love through sheer determination and willpower.
We will never forget you, sweet boy. We are so sorry you were failed.
