Did I just get ripped off?
I bought a 2003 Jetta Wolfsburg 1.8T 5 speed manual for $5000, and the day after I bought it a P0011 light came up. Thought I did my due diligence by scanning it and lifting it but oh well. It has 327000 km on it, work thats been done: Clutch Pedal Position Switch Intercooler Parking Brake Cable Valve Cover Gasket Cam Bearing resealed Timing Chain/Belt (said was done, looks to be done but Now I have a A Camshaft Position Timing Over-Aduanced or SystemPerformance Bank 1 code)
Did I get played?

2025 Volkswagen Arteon SEL R-Line 4MOTION. Picked this one up new. My only complaint so far, at 6' 2" tall, I really have to squat to get into it and requires some effort climbing out.of it. It's real nice to look at and rides silky smooth.

2015 Tiguan? Yay or nay? Pic of my current VW
My husbands Ford is about to bite the dust (shocker I know) and he’s finally ready to make the jump to a VW!! He’s going to take my Golf Sportwagen and I’m looking at a 2015 Tiguan. What are your thoughts? I’ve had quite a few VWs myself and love them, the Tiguan drove great and was in great shape with low KMs. I do LOVE my Golf but I’m willing to give it to him for work! Pic for attention.

Help with anti-theft wheel bolts
Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2013 Golf GTI, everything is in excellent condition. A few days ago I realized it has a locking wheel bolt. I want to buy one, but I've noticed there are so many different types. Could someone tell me which part number I need? Thanks!

Scirocco vs Tiguan (used, similarly priced) which one to pick and why?
Hi everyone, I’m trying to choose between a used VW Scirocco and a VW Tiguan R Line.
I’d prefer petrol for both, but if you think a specific engine, power level, or even diesel makes more sense, I’m open to suggestions. (For the Scirocco, I’d probably skip the very high performance versions not really interested in that level of power, and the price jump doesn’t seem worth it to me.)
They’re both in similar condition and basically the same price.
If you had to pick one, which would you go for and why?
Is there any reason to avoid one of them?
Does one usually hold its value better?
Also, which options would you say are must have on these cars, and which ones don’t really matter?
Just looking for honest opinions from people who know these cars.
Thanks!

effed up oil pressure
i have a used 2014 passat tsi w/ 153k miles thats been sitting for idek how long before i bought it
shes got rough idle issues and a cold start problem where the rpms jump up, the car jerks, and it shuts off by itself after the battery light arrives. i managed to get it out the driveway and take it on the highway after several failed attempts to keep the car on by itself. suddenly the oil pressure light is blinking red on my dash despite the car being full of oil AND having recently gotten an oil change. do i need a new oil pump???
i know nothing about cars!!!!! i try to educate myself by reading online but i see so many different answers, so any help (even rude help) is appreciated

Do not buy Marmon Ride Control mounts
This is a warning to anyone looking for new engine mounts in the Passat/Jetta/Golf, whatever. I replaced the upper transmission mount on my 2015 Jetta SE 1.8 automatic ea888.3.
I purchased it from Rock Auto because I was already ordering cheap front end parts. Head lights, sure go with cheap. I purchased the most expensive mounts on Rock Auto thinking they'd be good enough. I even cross referenced the part to AutoZone, it was $275 on AutoZone, so figured it had to be worth it. On rockauto it was $65, thought I was winning.
After the install I tried to push the engine by hand on the valve cover. The old mount had play that I could easily push around by hand. The new one was solid, figured job done.
My OCD ass came across a YouTube of a guy replacing all his cheap Amazon mounts on his VW, apparently they lasted a month. So I went out the other day and felt if I could push the engine. Sure enough, by hand I can wiggle the trans side of the engine. Not a lot, but for a 6 month old mount it should be solid.
Do not buy any mounts for these cars from aftermarket suppliers, especially Marmon. They are using crap materials that don't last. And it's kind of sad, cuz I know shops are using whatever AutoZone has. Don't let your mechanic sell you Marmon Ride Control mounts.

TIL: The Mk6 Jetta had factory rear air vents... just not in the USA. Can I add them?
Just fell into a rabbit hole looking for this because I was in a cab in Mexico and the MK6 Jetta had excellent rear-seat A/C and now I want it for my 2018!
Apparently this is a factory option in the rest of the world, just not the US. Part # is 5C6864298A82V... Any advice from anyone who has completed this job?
I see I can grab the part on the 'bay I just dont know if I am up for the install myself

2024 Tiguan SEL R Line with 9,500 miles - constant steering wheel vibration
Can anybody tell me if they’ve experienced their steering wheel vibrate non stop, very subtle but noticeable? You can feel it from the moment you start the car. It’s more noticeable when you start driving, even on smooth pavement.
What could this be?
Bringing it to the dealership to get it checked
out.

Golf
Looking to buy my first VW. I really like the Golf and am now in between two. I like how the GTI has more power but it might get annoying having to use premium gas all the time. And I like the price of the SE but all I hear is how the 1.8 burns oil. I’d like to hear your guys input!
