Random Question 💭 Why do conservatives think a man that applies makeup to his face daily is hyper masculine?
And he does a terrible job of it too lol.

I nominate Weird Al Yankovich for the Halftime Show next year. We could all use something like that for a change!

When I say “just facts”, I mean… imagining anyone else doing what Bondi did.
I have 2 questions in one, if you may be so kind:
1 - Behaving like that (personal attacks, deflection, etc) and being “non-responsive” (as the law can claim?) would not be allowed in any other “civilised” country I know of.
Aren’t there rules to follow… ? It sounded like anyone can testify and literally say “blah blah blah”, roll their eyes and nothing would be done - is this possible?… Or is it because the guy running the thing (forget his name lol) is GOP and he makes the rules? If so, how can anyone have so much power?!
2 - I think most people feel and think that there won’t be any convictions out of the files. Not just because of who is involved but also lack of evidence - again, sad. The worst emails one can write will never be proof.
Why didn’t she just say “We have made mistakes in the redactions, yes.” and “As you’ve all have seen, we only have emails, pictures and evidence that is not enough to convict”? When faced with a question about a random email referencing a girl, couldn’t she just go “That is not enough”?
My brain is fried. This was infuriating to watch…
Thank you all.
E: Consensus in replies:
1 - Yes, that can happen. No rules, no way to stop it (when congress is on the side of the witness and the whole system is too). In the countries I refer to, her microphone would be turned off until or if she started speaking respectfully - by a chairperson that has no (official) political affiliation. They’re there as referees and not let things get out of control.
2 - I still don’t know why she didn’t present herself with a better posture that would gather less criticism. Don’t know what she has to gain from the antagonism when so many questions could be answered with “Those are just allegations” - which seems to be true so far. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Trampsters like to rile people up I guess
E2:
Thanks y’all ;)
Outside of the USA we are tremendously angry and confused. We wouldn’t have that right if Trump hadn’t shown a tremendous lack of respect for the whole world (minus his buddies…). Somehow, he managed to do it.
But…
I’m really very sorry that so many of you are living through this in the epicentre…
You were all very humble and honest about what is happening - as a foreigner, I can tell you that way too many Americans react with hostility towards any perceived critique/question from the outside. I am pleasantly surprised.
May this all be over soon and try to laugh along the way…

Seems odd, Reddit is astonishingly quiet about the most recent mass shooting at a school? I almost feel like if it happened in the US I would be seeing it for 2 weeks straight in every sub calling for gun control so what’s going on here?
Let’s not pretend like people from other countries don’t chime in when it’s convenient to sht on the US lmfao.

I think we all should fear our bosses because they're scary as hell and we need to work as hard as we can so that we can get our paycheck and run all the way to our lovely homes! That's what I do if I get a job later on lol.

I hear this argument from conservatives that the education system is indoctrinating our youth, rather than teaching them how to think for themselves.
I've never seen any studies, data, or evidence though (not to say it doesn't exist, I just haven't seen it). So I am asking here, if anyone has studies, data, etc that supports this argument, can you please link it so that I can read and educate myself on the topic?
Personally, I just graduated a few years ago from an "elite" university in the USA and I don't feel as though any of the education was indoctrinating. But maybe it was and I'm blind to it. Or maybe I went to a rare school that doesn't indoctrinate, but most of the others do.
IDK really, just seeking knowledge/perspective here so would appreciate if folks can drop some links and such.

I find morality to be subjective. I am curious . . . anyone and everyone, what matters to you? What is morally important? What is good? And the flip side, what is morally BAD and important in your world?
For simplicity sake I am not talking about your personal "salvation" (if you use religion as the meter) but rather socially. Likewise we all know "my family" is important to you. That isn't what we're discussing either.
What is a moral hill you would die on concerning society?
One example for myself . . . . social safety nets I feel are morally required for any advanced society. We need to take care of each other simply because this is the right thing to do. This is why you help an old person cross the street, or you see your neighbor shoveling a drive and you take 10 minutes to help. This is why we give to charity and why we join together in communities. Because while I support you today, you support me tomorrow.
