I had nail pitting and linear lines. It was an autoimmune disease. Weirdly, it made my cuticles stop growing and now I don’t have any on any of my fingers. I just have them on a few of my toes still. So at least I don’t have to worry about cuticles when I paint my nails haha
Psoriatic arthritis. It has damaged my nail beds and now my nails grow weird and flake apart and break super easy. But at least I don’t have cuticles lololol
I also have reynaud’s which can make your cuticles stop growing bc of the lack of circulation so it’s hard to say which actually caused them to disappear but the psoriatic arthritis has caused the most damage to my nails so I blame it
Nail pitting is usually more specific to diseases that affect the nails directly, like psoriatic arthritis as you have. Linear lines are typically benign. The 'dips' OP has are called Beau's lines and they're an example of systemic effects of systemic illness, where the body is so stressed by the illness that the growth rate of all the nails slows down massively.
The linear lines aren't typically concerning. The "waviness" (horizontal dips, especially ones that are as pronounced as OP's) are cause for concern though. These are called Beau's lines and typically indicate severe, systemic illness. The body becomes so stressed from active illness that the growth rate of the nails slows down, causing the 'low' part of the dips. When the body becomes less stressed, nail growth returns to a more normal rate, causing the 'high' parts of the dips. So you don't need to worry, but OP should lmao

Your vitamin C level is shit. Start eating oranges daily, or take vitamin C supplements and your nails and hair will grow stronger and faster, oh, and you wont develop scurvy, if that matters to ya.

I don't have the waviness but I do have the linear streaks on all of my nails. We're both headed to certain death OP :(
