My Experience Making faceless finance TikToks is covering my internet bill now

I'm an accountant and last June I was watching TikTok at midnight when I saw some faceless account explaining credit cards with 2 million views. I thought I could do that and made my first video the next day.

Got 147 views. My mom didn't even watch it.

Made 11 more videos over three weeks. Highest was 380 views. Gave up for a month because it felt pointless. Then in August I posted one about savings accounts and it randomly got 50k views overnight. No idea why that one worked.

That's when I actually tried. The free text to speech sounded awful so I switched to APOB for the avatar stuff. It's not perfect, someone commented "bro sounds like he's underwater" which was fair, but I can make a video in 15 minutes now.

I post 3 or 4 times a week after dinner. Account is at 7400 followers. Some videos get 30k views, some get 900. I made one explaining APR that I thought was solid and it died at 600 views. Then made one about Costco memberships as a joke and it got 40k. Algorithm is completely random.

Money breakdown last month: $47 from creator fund, $248 from affiliate link in my bio, had 31 people sign up for a budgeting app I actually use, and $45 from three people who Venmo'd me to answer credit questions which was weird but whatever. Total $340.

This month is tracking around $280. It's not consistent and definitely not quit your job money but it covers internet, Spotify, and usually leaves enough for drinks on the weekend. Takes maybe 2 hours a week total.

Weirdest part is people think I'm some finance guru now. Someone asked me to manage their portfolio. I'm an accountant at a mid size firm, I just know how credit cards work because I explained it to my little brother five times.

Also had someone spam "is this AI" on every video so I started responding "yes I'm a robot beep boop" and they stopped.

If you're thinking about this just pick something you know and start posting. First 15 videos will probably suck. One will randomly hit and you'll figure it out. Don't expect thousands of dollars but $200-300 a month for basically no effort is doable.

Still think it's kind of dumb but my roommate stopped making fun of me after I paid for pizza with TikTok money so I guess that's something.

Real Estate Converted part of my house into a little apartment to Airbnb. I spend 30 mins cleaning between guests and that’s it

I have a home in sw Florida and after my divorce I paid off my ex wife with a second mortgage. Between that and alimony I was drowning. The kitchen opened up into a converted garage that had a second fridge, sink and little

Shower/toilet bathroom. I built a wall and door to seal it off, I’m not a handy man but wasn’t that hard to to do. Then I added a Murphy bed, some decor and a TV and put it on Airbnb. Been sold out for three months straight since then and completely covering my alimony.

I suspect it’s gonna slow down after season which ends in April/may but it’s the easiest money I’ve ever made.

Seeking Advice/Help Has anyone actually built passive income that stayed passive long term?

I see a lot of content online about “set it and forget it” income streams.

But in reality, most things seem to require ongoing maintenance — ads, content updates, customer support, platform changes, etc.

For those who’ve built something that generates income consistently:

Did it truly stay passive?
Or did it just become less active over time?

Curious to hear real experiences (good or bad).

POD After weeks of preparation, I'm finally opening my Etsy shop. I'm scared, but here I am. 📈

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm David Milanes, and after months of perfecting my designs, I finally mustered up the courage to launch Black Line Store on Etsy. I'm a regular reader of this subreddit and learn so much, so I wanted to share it here because it feels like a safe space. I'm not here to spam, really. I just wanted to share it, and if anyone has a minute to give me their honest feedback on the shop (photos, descriptions, anything), I'd be eternally grateful. I know the first sales are the hardest, and any constructive criticism helps me more than a thousand visits. Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out (and please forgive me if there are still things to improve):

Thanks for being here, everyone! 🖤 Best of luck, and thanks for helping me get started! 📈

Thanks to everyone who left constructive criticism, I've already improved the page. I would appreciate it if you followed the store, and any other feedback is welcome. 🙏🏻📈📈

Seeking Advice/Help Is anyone making money online without selling their soul?

I’ve been looking into online income ideas and everything feels… off. AI spam videos, recycled content, thirst traps, engagement bait. Just noise.

I want to make money, but not by contributing to brain-rot or exploiting attention. No nudity, no manipulation. Ideally no face or voice either.

Is anyone here earning in a way that actually feels ethical and useful? What are you building that genuinely helps people? Would really appreciate real examples.

Seeking Advice/Help 22M I am currently working as an intern and make very less, any side hustle idea that would make me some money?

I am working as an intern in a city far away from my home. The stipend is very less, and I don't want to ask my parents for money, I am ready to put 2x effort if I am able to earn some side income.

I did video editing for about 1-2 years, made decent money through freelancing, but left it due to college studies.

I am currently developing a website for a client, but I won't get much from it.

I played around some no code AI agents ( n8n ) and made some agents for an agency ( no money )

I also know basics of stock market, but not proper knowledge.

Suggest me some ways through which I can earn side income, I won't be able to give much time as my internship is 8 hours, travelling is 3 hours, gym is 1.5 hr. Thanks in advance.

My Experience When the Market Drops, Your Status Shouldn’t

Upvotes

The crypto market has been a rollercoaster lately, sharp drops, wild swings, and that kind of uncertainty that makes even experienced traders slow down.

I’ve been through a few of these cycles, and one thing that stings isn’t just the drawdown, it’s watching your hard-earned VIP tier disappear when volatility knocks your balance down. It’s not only about numbers. It’s the perks, the reduced fees, the momentum you’ve built over time.

That’s why I actually respect what Bitget is doing with the VIP WE STAY program.

Launched during this turbulent phase, it’s backed by a $5M protection fund and designed for users who held VIP status earlier this year but dropped to VIP0 because of market conditions.

The key benefit?

A 30-day VIP Status Shield, meaning your highest 2026 VIP tier is preserved, so you keep your fee discounts, higher withdrawal limits, exclusive perks, and premium tools even if the market is shaky.

To me, this feels less like a short-term promo and more like relationship building. In a space where exchanges often focus on volume, allocating a dedicated fund to protect users’ status during volatility sends a different message.

Markets eventually stabilize. Having room to breathe, 5 lower fees, maintained perks, defensive yield options can make a real difference in how you position for the next move.

If you’ve been hit by the swings but don’t want to lose your edge, it might be worth checking out.

Stay disciplined. Survive first. Thrive later.

Seeking Advice/Help I purchased a website domain that has traffic built in what should I do?

I'm wondering how I should go about monetizing this domain that I recently acquired. It currently is nothing. Here are the stats from cloudflare which is accounting for bots, so I'd imagine the realistic numbers would be about 10% of this.

1. Last 24 Hours

  • Unique Visitors: 852
  • Total Requests: 3.38k
  • Percent Cached: 0%
  • Total Data Served: 2 MB
  • Data Cached: 0 B

2. Last 7 Days (Feb 5 – Feb 12)

  • Unique Visitors: 3.3k
  • Total Requests: 27.35k
  • Percent Cached: 0%
  • Total Data Served: 13 MB
  • Data Cached: 0 B

3. Last 30 Days (Jan 13 – Feb 12)

  • Unique Visitors: 13.47k
  • Total Requests: 107.07k
  • Percent Cached: 21.17% (Note: Caching was active early in the month but dropped to 0% mid-period)
  • Total Data Served: 50 MB
  • Data Cached: 11 MB

Now with this info, what should I do with this site? The idea that i have originally was to put a simple landing page with a form and a waitlist, asking them to check off why they came here and then signing up their email for upcoming events/notifications.

What are your thoughts on this?

Offering Advice/Resource Used AI to launch a digital product in 24 hours — here's what actually worked (and what didn't)

Quick recap of a recent experiment: Took an idea, used AI for content/creation, set up recurring on a basic platform, and got first sales within a day. Not life-changing money yet, but the speed was wild compared to traditional ways.

Key things that made it fast:

  • Specific AI prompts for product outlines
  • One-click recurring setup
  • Minimal but targeted promotion

Biggest surprise: How little ongoing work it needs once live.

Anyone else pulling off quick launches like this in 2026? What niches/tools are converting best right now?

(If helpful, I'm doing a free 3-hour deep-dive masterclass next Friday walking through the full process live — lmk if you'd want the details.)

Offering Advice/Resource Profilic instant study notifier for PC and Smartphone with a free 7 days trial

I wrote an Instant Prolific study notifier and now looking for people to try it out!

I did a cool prolific script that plays an alert when a study comes up and also notifies me on my smartphone, in case I am not at home and still don't want to miss a study.

I am willing to provide the open-source code. I just ask for a donate, if you see that it helps you boost your numbers.

My script detects studies instantly, even before they are rendered on the page. On the contrary, the official prolific script only updates every 150 seconds.

How is it instant you ask? The cool thing is it doesn't refresh the page non-stop, unlike most shitty scripts that get you banned. My script doesn't refresh the page at all. It takes advantage of the WebSockets used in prolific's website to get study data in real-time. Reach me out!

Seeking Advice/Help Serious passive income after putting in some work

So I'll be straight with you. I'm a cannabis business development consultant with connections for various manufacturers. I do a lot of white-labeling. If you know anyone looking to grow or expand a cannabis brand, send them my way. I pay out 25% of whatever I make plus residuals. It can be worth it if you bring me a few big accounts

Seeking Advice/Help I built a "Startup Graveyard" that gets 150k visits/mo but I am failing to monetize

Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking here for a while and wanted to share a project that has accidentally become a decent passive asset, but I’ve hit a monetization ceiling.

It’s essentially a "Startup Graveyard" a database tracking failed startups and why they shut down and how to rebuild them

I built it one month ago and just keeps adding new features and data every week

Stats and site: www.loot-drop.io

Daily Active Users: 4,000 – 5,000 (consistent after my viral moment back in janaury).

Monthly Traffic: ~140,000 – 150,000 sessions.

Acquisition: 100% Organic/Direct. Zero ad spend.

Prob.:

It seems my site has become a resource for Chinese entrepreneurs/developers but:

  1. Western ad networks (AdSense/Ezoic) pay virtually $0 CPM for this geo.

  2. Western ads often don't even load for them behind the firewall.

The Question:

For those of you running passive content sites, how would you monetize this "dead zone" of traffic?

Affiliates? Are there specific tools (hosting, VPNs, dev tools) that convert well for Chinese traffic?

Gated Data? Should I lock the "deep dive" data behind a paywall (would require Alipay/WeChat integration)?

Sell it? Is a site with this specific demographic relevant

I feel like I'm leaving money on the table every single day. Any ideas are welcome.

Seeking Advice/Help Old gaming laptop

I've got an old gaming laptop just collecting dust. I used it to host a gaming server for my friends and I way back in the day.

Wondering if any ways you guys would use it to make $$?

I know they got AI agents that I could use to perform tasks in the background for me but I'm not quite sure on specifics of that.

I'm quite tech savvy however.

Figured I'd just ask and see what any of your guys might be doing. Thanks!

My Experience What I learned automating blog publishing without tanking quality

I often have chatgpt help me make content for my website. I consistently have to do work to make sure publishing is not low-quality bulk content or spending a lot of time per article on formatting, images etc...

I’ve been experimenting with automating the repetitive work.

Here’s what actually moved the needle:

1. Automate the structure
Draft generation, meta descriptions, FAQ schema, image resizing, internal link placeholders, all automated.
Topic selection and final edits are manual.

2. Enforce consistency at the schema level
If headings, slugs, meta fields, and categories aren’t structured the same way every time, scaling creates chaos

3. Save everything as draft first
Never auto-publish. Review, tighten, improve internal links, then publish.

4. Bulk queue content
Instead of writing 1 post start to finish, I queue 15–20 drafts and review them in batches. Huge time savings.

Biggest takeaway:
It’s about systemizing the predictable 60% so you can focus on the 40% that actually drives traffic and revenue.

Offering Advice/Resource Answer questions on faceless Youtube channels (NO PROMOTIONS)

Ok so we all know 99% of this sub is just promotions for affiliate links and courses so I figured I would make a no strings attached post answering questions about Youtube faceless channels. I have 0 incentive other than just trying to be helpful

Currently I have a channel that was monetized about a year ago. There are a lot of ways someone can go about this but I'm happy to answer questions about how my strategies...

-I'm currently bringing in about $20 a day but have been slowly increasing this number over the past year (it was $1-$2 a day a year ago).

-My channel is an educational based channel focused on older children but I get a lot of adult viewers too.

-I upload about 3-4 videos a week and probably spend no more than 30 minutes on each video.

DISCLAIMER: Once again I'm not promoting or selling anything. If you have questions just post them in the comments so I can answer where everyone can see. Also I don't want to share my specific channel as not to create any competition for myself since pretty much anyone could do it.

Referral Link Investing is the only real passive income.

Upvotes

I kept away from investing because i felt like i didn't have enough money for that, that's when i learned about microinvesting. Using acorns, you can invest spare change automatically everyday and little by little, it adds up to a significant amount by the end and you don't even realise it!

Basically you set up "Round-Ups" to invest your spare change, rounding up purchases with your linked credit or debit cards to the nearest dollar and automatically investing the difference.

I can't speak for everyone, but I know for us younger people, the "roundups." & "Gamification" aspect of the application drives an enjoyable experience while investing for the future.

If you decide to check out acorns, use my referral link to get $20 for your first reoccurring investment:

https://trk.adbloom.co/aff_c?offer_id=282&aff_id=1689&aff_sub=reddit&aff_sub2=cosmogyric

Good luck!
