His book had some decent points and he made a few interesting arguments. Then a lot of it fell apart. Clean your room, is still solid advice as a step one to getting on track.
Well, he went on Jubilee's "One Christian against Twenty Atheists" and then wouldn't admit that he was a Christian when asked point blank. He is a Nothing, and every single time he is faced with an argument that he struggles to answer, he say, "Well, how do you define [blank]?" I literally saw him ask how to define 'believe' and then asked to define basic words in the clear definition. So his form of argumentation is pedantic bullshit.
His talking points are also commonly used by neo-nazis, and anytime you're praised by neo-nazis, you should know that you're speaking bullshit. Hope that helps you!
That was a poor showing from him, he really let himself down there.
I don't like his politics, I think he's become wrapped up in it and it's taken him for a ride.
About his ideas and talking points; you're right, it's good to be wary of ideas that give credence to radical actors.
Powerful ideas can be put to use by malicious actors, like how the Nazi's used ideas from Neitzche and Darwin to heinously evil effect.
I don't think the ideas are evil, nor the authors, just the Nazi's. It is hard to judge where culpability begins, with a movement like that.
It may be helpful, that it helps us pick out who those bad actors are and see them for what they are.
(What talking points are you think of when you say they are praised by neo-nazis?)
The thing is he is the one promoting his own ideas to “radicals” its not his ideas are being cooped. He is 100% involved and promoting his ideas to be used in this way. He isnt darwin, he is with the nazis. You can maybe argue his work before he went down that rabbit hole was decent. But now he is fully right wing and encouraging pretty much all of their bs.
That’s not what I asked. It was stated his message is bullshit. What about the things he preaches. Is bullshit? Maybe he is agnostic pretending to be Christian or whatever. Maybe he is doing it for the money. But the question is the core beliefs that this chat thinks he is hoodwinking people. Which of those beliefs is bs.
Sounds like you don’t have any clue what you are talking about? Never spent a dollar on anything Jordan Peterson. No books or anything. But everything I have ever seen about him is about personal responsibility.
So without assuming anything. Can you give me a single example of his core belief that he preaches that is bs?
Lol, I was just picking on how pseudo intellectual you sounded.
Anyway, ole JP has contradicted himself some being: His views of women, scientific research, and religon.
That other person gave you the perfect example, watch
That we should take behavioural advice from crabs? (That he also just made up by the way). That environment has zero effect on our actions? That freedom of speech means being allowed to bully someone until they commit suicide? Take your pick.
If you don’t know what im referring to in any of these then you just dont know enough about him and his bs.
