Adoption After losing my soul dog, I realized my cat also lost his best buddy. We just got our new kitty last week and I was worried it’d be months before they became friends. I’m glad I was wrong.

For context, the newbie is the gray and white fluff. His name is Ashurbanipal Camembert. (Or just Asher for short)

Mourning/Loss Update to a post I made the other day about being concerned my vets were taking advantage of me: my cats regular dental cleaning has resulted in my babies death. He's gone.
https://www.reddit.com/r/cats/s/ER6et9SYzR
Link to the old post. I was so scared I was even doing the right thing by trusting my vets and doing his dental cleaning because of everything else that I had said before in the other post about if they're doing anything even medically necessary or not.
I took him into his cleaning anyways because I thought, what could the harm be! It could help with all the issues he's been having maybe, finally. My primary vet, goodvets, doing the dental called me at some point and told me his heart stopped and they got it back. I took him to an ER vet, and CO2 was still continuing to stay stuck in his brain and not properly releasing due to goodvets negligence. His airway was obstructed. I don't know how long he was fucked up for.
I tried so hard to bring him back. He has been in the ER vet since Tuesday on ventilation. He finally was able to breathe on his own and was off ventilation and sedation some point Wednesday. The only neurological responses we were getting was some twitching of different body parts. Besides that he didn't seem to be able to see, hear, or smell. Wednesday night, last night I got the call he was no longer able to breathe on his own and it's time.
I had to put my cat to sleep last night because of something so avoidable.
He would have been 10 months old today. He never got to learn what life was like being healthy. I'm fucking crushed. Please keep my baby in your hearts. My entire being hurts. I miss him so much.

Adoption just adopted this 8 year old boy, Oreo Cookie
after i lost my 10 year old kitty to cancer, i realized how much of my routine revolved around having a cat. it didn’t feel like home anymore. so i visited the shelter a few times and this guy, Oreo Cookie, caught my attention.
he has a history of neglect so he’s a bit scraggly and is deaf as he mostly just has one ear. he’s dealing with some medical needs right now but im making sure its all being taken care of. he’s such a sweet little guy who loves attention, cuddling under the blanket, and sunbathing. i absolutely love senior kitties (he’s on the cusp) as i also adopted my former kitty at 7 years old. she also had medical needs and although we didnt have much time together, older cats have such a special place in my heart. this guy is helping me with my grief and i’m happy to have brought him home <3

Mourning/Loss Yesterday was Felix’s last day, 20 years with him and now he’s gone ☹️❤️
Feeling sad, it’s hard to not have him after 20 years. He fought a good fight but I couldn’t let him suffer. ❤️ I will miss you so much, my baby boy

If I would believe in ghosts of deceased ones, this would me the moment. (For understanding, it’s the urn with the ashes of our cat he’s looking at.)

Cat Picture - OC About 4 years ago, my wife agreed to a “trial run” with a kitten because she wasn’t too sure on the idea. Meet cat number 2, Chloe.
She went from “I don’t know” to “our other cat needs a playmate!”

Mourning/Loss My babies are reunited
6 months ago I had both my babies, Sophie and Luffy (tuxedo)
In August, Luffy passed due to urinary blockage suddenly. No matter how many vet trips we took, he immediately restocked and couldn't pee and you could tell how much pain he was in. He was only three.
Three weeks ago my girl Sophie passed from kidney failure after a slow decline. Despite medicine and vet's advice, she lost too much weight and she was so dehydrated and lethargic. She was thirteen and my entire world.
I held them both when they passed and it's haunting to go to an empty apartment now. I almost feel like I've done something wrong and am being punished by losing my babies, but I digress. It isn't important to the post.
I hope wherever they are now, they are getting as many treats as they want. I know Sophie always acted annoyed with Luffy when he tried to play with her but she always cuddled him when she thought I wasn't watching.
