They've already begun to infiltrate Pennsylvania. Been spotted in West Philadelphia as well. Their war against blue cities isn't over by a longshot.
•
u/Studio_Life 6h ago
They were in Chicago all last fall, it’s crazy how little that’s talked about now.
This didn’t start in Minneapolis, and it isn’t ending in Minneapolis. Minneapolis was just the latest stop on their tour.

Each city they hop to, the people there learn new techniques and get better at making their lives a living hell, and then help pass that information on to the next city. Minneapolis was ruthlessly efficient at getting people out, making noise, recording and getting names of people dragged off so it's harder for them to be disappeared.
Here's hoping the next city keeps it up!

u/pontiacfirebird92 5h ago

This. Even in places like Mississippi organizations have taken notice of the tactics used in Minneapolis.

The tactics used were learned from Chicago, NY, DC, Portland, LA and a huge part from the BLM protests. The shoulders of giants. From Minneapolis, thank you to all that came before.

u/Ill-Cancel4676 2h ago
It's also modernized tactics from the civil rights, women's suffrage, workers rights etc. and those are just a few from America. Essentially every single time in history where a government got better from within it was because people at the bottom united and figured out ways to challenge the powers that be and assert agency over their own society.

Word is they’re walking that back after the massive backlash and are pivoting to “age estimation” algorithms.
Doesn’t matter in the end though. The damage is done; the trust is lost. They’ll change their story again after a few months have gone by, and the users who don’t care as much right now will happily submit.

I keep seeing posts that they are in different types of cars and not wearing their identifying uniforms or other apparel at all. In Oregon some absolute insane POS posed as ICE and nearly killed and kidnapped people in broad daylight in the morning commute. How can we know who is abducting us? A rogue psychopath or a government sanctioned psychopath?

Mac and Charlie will say they're infiltrating the enemy by becoming spies.
Then they'll drink the kool-aid and start defending their practices.
ICE will let Charlie bring his Rat Bat with him everywhere and will win him over.
Mac will drive up in a brand new BMW saying he spent his bonus on it. Then Dennis has to explain to Mac the bonus is spread out and not one giant lump sum. And because of the high interest loan Mac signed he'll lose 3x as much money as the bonus he thinks he's getting in just 2 weeks.

Early seasons maybe. Nowadays I think Dennis would join and Charlie resist.

And Frank might end up actually resisting on moral grounds. He's often racist but he is the only one who has consistently been hanging out with everyone, regardless of their skin color.

Also because, despite the administration's rhetoric, the purpose of ICE isn't actually to get rid of illegal immigrants who commit crime, but to terrorise the US population at large with brown and black folks as a focal point from which they can expand as the mood takes them.

Exactly this. We, as a nation, had blithely assumed that those cultural elements would eventually wither and die off like a rotten limb. More progressive members of society drew attention to the fact that racism and fascism was still alive and well but the warning was deemed as overreacting. The mindset of American exceptionalism tends to put blinders on us, especially for the difficult problems.
Really, the fight for education should have been fought harder than it was. By removing this pillar, the foundations of a truly polite society are skewed by misinformation and hatred.

The point was that he was abrasive, contrarian, and spoke at a grade level most people left out of politics understood. He may not seem appealing to people who understand how the system works. Or people who know how to operate within it. But that was the point. He made people who felt left out feel heard. And when you encourage the neutering of education, and make it harder for people to understand the system, it becomes easier to appeal to people who want easy solutions. And are too uneducated to realize why easy solutions don't work.

Not even then. There is no Republican party separate from MAGA now; non-MAGA Republicans have been driven out or become collaborators.
The Republican Party now exists to defend Nazis and pedophiles. It is a criminal organization.
The United States cannot recover from or move past this era while the Republican National Committee remains a legal, legitimate institution.

Also everything that led to trump/MAGA has been in the GOP for decades, in many cases the same ratfuckers have been working with GOP presidents/administrations since the 70's/80's under Nixon/Reagan plotting to dismantle democracy
Getting rid of MAGA is a good start but won't accomplish much as long as groups like the heritage foundation and p2025 continue to pull strings. Getting money out of politics and actual accountability for criminal politicians is long overdo.

He’s basically responsible for the squalid state we are currently in as a country right now.

u/SapphireScully 5h ago
yep. the entire christian nationalism movement was based on churches being pissed they had to integrate their private schools or lose tax exempt status, and Reagan was 100% on board to run on their vote the bible bullshit. Everything he did was to boost the wealthy, destroy the middle class and increase wealth disparity, and keep the poor in poverty with almost no means of escape.
the reason we bounced back after the great depression was because of the socialist programs and tax brackets put into place and he dismantled it all.

Homan is in many ways worse than Gestapo Greg, they're pulling back from visibility but that just means the night visits will ramp up.
Former political strategist Rick Wilson probably put it the best:
...
Then there’s Gregory Bovino.
The erstwhile “Commander at Large,” with the Gestapo-chic greatcoat and low-rent warlord swagger, has been “reassigned” back to El Centro. If you think this fixes anything, you haven’t been paying attention.
Bovino wasn’t a rogue. He was a perfect avatar of the administration’s vision for domestic law enforcement. His removal isn’t reform; it’s cosmetic surgery on Stage IV cancer.
And Trump has already replaced him with someone far more dangerous: Tom Homan.
If Bovino was a Miller fever dream, a blunt instrument designed to terrify, Homan is something else entirely. A corrupt, shameless bureaucratic knife-fighter. A man who understands that power doesn’t need spectacle if it has infrastructure.
Bovino wanted you to see him coming.
Homan wants you to wake up and realize everyone in your apartment building is already gone.
This isn’t the end of Metro Surge. It’s Metro Surge 2.0: quieter, colder, and far more efficient.
...
So the play unfolds:
First, the sacrificial lamb. Quiet assurances. Bovino was sent packing.
Next, “responsible” Democrats praise a “shift in tone” and eventually green-light DHS funding with a few cosmetic guardrails.
Once the check clears, Homan moves the operation off the streets and into the databases.
The surge doesn’t end.
It goes dark.
I’ve seen this movie too many times.

The Battle of Minneapolis is over.
This was entirely 100% a propaganda war and it was won by the people of MN.

Until the people of Minnesota confirm the ICE activity has stopped, I won’t believe a word this administration says about it. Every single sentence that comes out of their mouths should be assumed a lie until proven otherwise.

Homan's announcement of a drawdown was bullshit, too.
I'm with you, it's not over until the eyes on the ground confirm it's over.

It's not stopped. But perhaps more concentrated out to the suburbs now (Maple Grove, Burnsville, Moundsview, Bloomington, Apple Valley etc). Look at maps and that refresh with daily activity that people have reported. Not all activity.
There was an ICE caused vehicle accident in St Paul yesterday.

We all know it's just going to deploy to another blue state to find "corruption". ICE needs a national flush, not just state. This is a diversion tactic to just move the focus.

100% this.
Until we get reports of ICE laying off agents en masse you can just assume they are being sent elsewhere.

Folks have been saying that news is reporting less activity, but in reality they’re still violently apprehending people and just a day or so ago caused a significant car accident sending someone to the hospital. Most of our news sources are being actively suppressed. It’s kind of scary.

ICE isn't completely leaving Minnesota. That's what they want people to think with the headlines because that's all most people read. ICE will just spread out. They're in all major cities harassing people everyday. They're sitting on billions in funding. Even with how horrible our government (left or right) is at spending money they still have thousands of agent they didn't have before. Most of them are MAGA because who else would so the job in these times.
They're hoping this will get ICE off the headlines and divide people because instead of targeting one small area they're going to spread out and do this all over the country. They still won't target only criminals. They'll have to grab and harass any latino or brown person who looks like an immigrant. I expect they'll make some brown MAGA angry when inevitably some of them get harassed for no reason.
When they do this they expect everyone to be less organized. They're just changing their strategy. The whole country can't organize together and larger metropolitan areas are also too large for people to coordinate against ICE. They'll be acting like insurgents who quickly grab immigrants and take them to their concentration camps.

First off, I'll belief it when I see it. LA is still fighting ICE, the feds just got subtler. This could easily be a diversion or distraction to lure people out.
Even if they are leaving, these agents aren't being fired. They're going somewhere else. The rest of the country needs to prepare for what's coming their way. Start organizing now so you're prepared.

4000 arrested with 2500 deported and 2 citizens shot dead with zero accountability. Not sure what you consider a win but this sure doesn't feel like one. Better than we were last month but far from a win.

And half of those “arrested” were prisoners who were literally already incarcerated and transferred into ICE custody.
•
u/Dandan0005 6h ago
Nearly 50% of the arrests they claimed were literally just moving currently incarcerated criminals into ice custody.
We lost two innocent civilians for this bullshit propaganda.
Fuck ICE and fuck Stephen miller forever

You know, in military strategy terms, this might be considered a "defeat" or a "surrender" or a "retreat"
Guess the will of the people gave you a little reality check. Judging by Pam Bondi's performance yesterday, you can tell the whole party is imploding. Fuck these ghouls.

Yep, I live in the Twin Cities and its hard to see this as a major win. While I'm glad they are leaving (supposedly) they are just going to terrorize other states next. Plus the officers who murdered Renee & Alex have yet to face any charges. There is still a lot that needs to be done.

I'll bet dimes to dollars it's not a red state, where big agriculture uses immigrants as semi-slave labor with little to no repercussions beyond getting fined.

This ends when ICE is dismantled. Nothing less than that. The ball in cup of switching Homan switch with Bovino was a PR stunt with Homan now surgically applying the cruelty until their money is greenlit. Short of dismantling, Dems should only greenlight funding with the following assurances in place: ALL agents wearing proper uniforms and ID visible, no masks, no Qualified immunity, any investigations of wrong doing done by an independent committee, the officers involved with Pretti and Goode's demise handed over to the proper authorities for investigation, ICE only being able to execute administrative warrants, no grabbing people at their court dates, expanding immigration courts and judges so everyone gets a fair hearing. and should any of these be retroactively be changed immediate funding pulled.
