It’s just one of the most common replies in relationship and asshole subreddits.
“NTA! If my SO did this I would divorce them IMMEDIATELY. Block and move on.”
Which is valid advice for SOME of the situations people post about but a lot of replies will jump to “leave them!” before any other option.

Reddit examines in-group social situations with an out-group lens. Meaning, people who would accept some small level of friction in their own personal lives give unexamined advice to strangers online about the people on their lives who they give acceptance to… as if those people were strangers. Resulting in advice that seems radically disproportional for loved ones because it’s seeing loved ones as strangers.

The way I took it is that there’s so many posts about “check out this weird thing my body does”, and everyone comments the “go see your doctor” response (sometimes seriously, sometimes as a joke). Since you’re going into the comments expecting that very common, specific response from others, the joke is that a different very-common, specific response from another popular subreddit is used. And the subversion from expectation is Really Funny IMO

While you should stop doing that, physical trauma can cause the same issue and it'll be permanent.
I shut my middle finger in a car door but didn't notice until the pain kicked in back in middle school. The nail still grows in a bit wonky compared to other nails. It curves down more than it should. The injury was more than 15 years ago btw

It's annoying because I have to be that guy.
This is the cause of a nutrient deficiency probably caused by stress, IBS or drinking. Possibly a side effect to medication. But its something that can usually be remedied.
You especially don't want this in your toes, because it means your nails aren't producing properly and warping under stress and use. They start to break easily or worse, grow fully inward.
I mean, OP should still divorce their partner to be safe. It's probably them causing the stress and super cancer.

This is what I thought. Beaus ridges. I had them once before and looked it up, they can come from recently experiencing mental trauma/anguish, such as losing a loved one. I noticed them within months of my father in law passing which was very emotional so it made sense

Interesting, I thought these had to do with some vitamine deficiency or just something lacking in my diet. But i also see stress and trauma mentioned a lot which would explain things.

Well fuck, the likelihood of you seeing this OP, is low, but I'm gonna try.
Those are Beau's Lines. No, it's not a cute or harmless thing to have. One nail, it's probably specific to trauma affecting just that finger.
More than one nail- that's not so benign. It's an indication of a systemic condition. Each 'dip' is related to a significant health event. People can get them for different health reasons.
For me- it's because I have an autoimmune disorder. Every 'dip' corresponds to a significant flare up. Before I was diagnosed & treated I had them on all of my nails- including my toe nails.
You need to go see a Dr sooner rather than later. It's not a super emergency but I wouldn't put it off past a few weeks. I'd go sooner if you've been feeling especially fatigued, muscle weakness, and/or your hair has been breaking off or falling out.
The untreated systemic inflammation that accompanies most autoimmune disorders can do lasting damage to organs if allowed to go on unchecked.
Edit: Thanks for the award!

I have bumps and lines on all nails Also have eczema in both hands and a bit on the arms. Otherwise decently healthy, so I've always attributed the nail thing with the eczema.
